This year seems very difficult to predict. There's not a Trijntje who I can scream "flop" at with confidence like I did last year.

:at: could be the shock DNQ. Moderately hyped by fans and it's just something I struggle to see picking up support.

:lv: I can't see this doing as well as Aminata. It probably won't flat out flop but it doing super great would surprise me.

:mt: depends entirely on the performance. Could be top 10, could miss the final. Ira needs to step it up.

:hu: might not do as well as expected. Unsure how much of this prediction is naughty wishful thinking. Semi 1 is supposedly the competitive one though and there are plenty of songs there that are predicted to do well. I see this one from Hungary getting quite easily lost.

:es: will probably get their flop on in the final as usual, as will :de: Style over substance isn't going to work for them.

Will pick 5

:fr: really don't want it to, can't see it being pulled together well live
:is: far too many threads to this imo
:mt: think this can still do quite well but not compared to the impression given by those that heard it in advance.
:es: Will probably come across as amateur
:ee: Don't find the package convincing

I hope someone links this thread to a Spanish eurovision forum. xheat

What would be funny is if Spain actually ends up doing well, despite almost everyone predicting its impending doom.

I think :nl: will put viewers to sleep, and the high hopes that everyone has for Douwe Bob will ring hollow.
:is: could very well flop, there's something about Greta Salome that screams "mediocre performer" - not something you want on the Eurovision stage.
:mt: could be very terrible live, it relies too much on studio stuff.
:ie: is a dull song and Nicky has awful stage presence. It wouldn't surprise me if we didn't qualify.
:il: is creepy when you realise that he's almost 30 but looks 16. It's like a reverse of last year.
:lt: is just a hot mess that tries too hard, while Russia throws everything at the viewers, Lithuania shoves it in their faces and the viewers will see through this.
:mk: is a weak song for Kaliopi, this will flop, definitely.
:be: could flop, it's very friendly and naive and young
 might be misunderstood with its "two songs in one" approach
:ua:'s survival depends solely on how well the commentators get the whole meaning of the song across to the viewers. Without the context, this song is kinda dull.
:es: really could flop! It's a massive fan favourite but those often flop unfortunately!

Spain and Malta. France is not to be considered a "flop" since I always expect them to finish at the bottom with GBR. Then we have Austria who is borderline-floppy. Anything can happen.

Watch out, spaniard fans are after you now.

My prediction: :es::mt::is::se:

If I ever intend to go to Spain i'd probably end up being lynched at the airport.

Although the song has been growing on me lately I have the feeling that :es: will flop big time. Pretty much everyone has it first in their top 42 on Youtube and it just screams 'fanwank', while I can't see it actually doing that well in Eurovision. It's a happy uplifting song and after the first pretty mediocre entries I guess everyone was very glad to finally hear something decent and are therefore clinging onto it a bit, even though there have been better songs released thus far. Also Spain usually sends pretty good songs to Eurovision that end up disappointing on the actual Eurovision stage, so I don't see why this time it's going to be different.

Another flop will probably be :is:. Although I think they will reach the final, I don't expect them to end up left of the scoreboard. The act is too messy and badly directed, like they wanted epic screen interaction a la Mans, but failed to grasp why Mans' act was so epic: he practiced about thousand times to get every movement right! Greta is often seconds too soon/late with her movements, causing that the shadows on screen and her movements aren't properly catching up with each other. Also the last 30 seconds of the act is no more than flickering light while she's just standing there. Not only do I think that the act is overrated; the song itself is no more than average to me and it seems like there is never any climax. All in all, it again screams 'fanwank' and I don't expect it to do actually well.

Also definitely :mt: isn't going to do that well. I'm quite confident that it will stay in the semis and if it will reach the final then it's definitely going to end up somewhere last. The whole song change has created a recent hype, but Walk on Water isn't really that remarkable and I can easily see it bomb life and people will forget it.

I also feel that :ee: won't do as well as expected, although qualification is surely possible. I also fear for :de: and :hu:, even though they're favourites of mine.

I know no one has even considered this, but...Spain.

Other potential flops are : Russia, Macedonia, Australia and Sweden.
