Why can't one start new topics in Michael's Crystal Ball? And possibly some other subforums as well...
I have already explained this before. Literally on previous page. Creating new threads in several areas was disabled to reduce the excessive amount of spam that we were experiencing this year. What other subforums do you mean?

I understand that the moderators and admins are working with trying to fix the problems that we have on the forum, but I am getting worried. I don't know how many times I entered the forum and it is going down just as I am about to post. I just hope a solution can be fixed, and as soon as possible, since I worry how things will get the sooner we reach 17th of May, the more active, and the more at risk this forum will be of being down.

I think it's a quite big deal, especially because the message doesn't show immediately.
Yeah that sucks, it also makes me accidentally double post sometimes because my brain acts before I realize it's just the fake error message

I’ve been banned numerous times for what I say because people don’t like my comments.
I posted last night and it got deleted. I’m going to open up right now and explain why I do what I do.

I got diagnosed with Autism a while ago. I have the official diagnosis letter if you want I can send it to you. I don’t like using language that isn’t correct English. I don’t like using terms that are not 100% grammatically correct.

If you don’t understand my condition and still want me to use language and terms that are not correct English then I think you should ban me permanently. Because I’m autistic and I’d rather be banned completely rather than banned for small periods of time and not told why other than ‘repeatedly breaking rules’…

If you don’t understand what I live with on a daily basis and don’t want to understand it then I’m more than happy to be banned because I cannot waste my life on a forum I’ve spent most of my life on focussed on a context I spend my life being obsessed with.

Ban me or understand my condition.

I don’t have the ability to waste more time trying to educate people about autism.

That is all

Now I am not part of the moderating group and I don't know what you have written to become banned, but I gotta step in here to give my take. I am also diagnosed with autism and has never been banned on this forum. Sure, I have sometimes written quite rough posts that people has misunderstood and I have had to apologize and explain what I meant, but that has probably been because of becoming sloppy when it comes to the language (I am just a Swede after all) than my autism.

Autism can vary from person to person, but to make "excuses" (I use this in the lack of a better word) for writing stuff that are seen as aggressive, degrading or that maybe is not suited for the place where it should belong is not an excuse. I have had to learn the hard way to follow rules as much as possible in my life, to be careful with what I say so I don't hurt anyone. Mistakes can of course be made, we are human after all. But I am sure there are many of this forum that got autism, ADHD or other mental challenges that we have to learn living with.

If you are unsure on what the rules are, then try find them on the forum (I am sure one of the moderators can guide you to it if you ask them) and when you post, take a moment and two to read through what you have written. I always try to do that when I write stuff, just to make sure I make sense and that I don't go with anything that would be seen as aggressive or degrading to someone else when posting.

I got banned for calling Nemo a man. The ban came after a warning because I questioned whether Red Sebastian was “male or female” and “gay or lesbian”

That is not true, Romeo. I would never let anyone from the Administration ban someone who has been calling Nemo a man, who he biologically is. Nothing wrong with posting so, but your responses were crossing the line of hate speech - on purpose or not, but it was enough to take a decision and issue a 3 day ban. People are different, and on a Forum like this it will always be impossible to agree with everyone, and that is normal. The thing is that nowadays more and more people all around the world are identifying themselves as non-binary, tomorrow a group of people will start identifying themselves as foxes and rabbits and I am afraid there is not much you can do about, it's the global flow and it just is what it is. As long as you stay respectful to others (Forum members, ESC artists etc.) and do not infect threads with hate speech, it is no big deal that you do not accept any of this concept - which is also absolutely fine. I also do not accept it just like many other things but I do not make a fuss around it, I just move and and do what I enjoy on this Forum rather than focus on the negative. Our Forum is not spinning around the ESC 2024 winner, it has much more to offer like online contests which are fun. We are going to host some additional ESC-related games and tournaments very soon as well. For your own well-being, you can take a break, collect your thoughts - it is okay to log out for a moment. ☀️

I was warned once for asking is red Sebastian was male or female / gay / lesbian. Then I replied to someone who said ‘this is old and been done before’ talking about Malta. I replied with “Nemo was a man in a dress, he was spinning on a lazy Susan, screaming, all had been done before but Nemo won last year”. (Slightly paraphrased because I cannot remember my exact words).

I was warned once about questioning gender / sexuality… then I was banned after calling Nemo a man…

NO REASON WAS GIVEN for the ban other that ‘persistent rule breaking’.

I’m not being unreasonable. If I’m banned for 3 days then I should be given a reason other than “persistent rule breaking”.

The only warning I had was telling me that people could be offended when I questioned the gender / sexuality of Red Sebastian.

After that I was banned for three days the only reason I can think of is because I called Nemo a man in a dress.

I’m getting random comments from people but none are consistent

You were warned not for asking about the artist's gender but for breaking Board Rule No. 1.5, - last sentence (in bold) coming across offensive to other members of the community. Given the amount of your previous posts that were removed from the public view, it was enough to make a decision and issue another warning.
Belgium is the favourite to win?

I assume the favourite is Red Sebastian? Not sure why.

Also is this a man or woman? It looks like a lesbian but dressed and sounds like a gay man.
then I was banned after calling Nemo a man…
What I have already stated above, your ban has nothing to do with calling Nemo a man. It was issued for the offensive messages you left in different threads, and based on your previous warning history – you have 4 and that is a lot.
NO REASON WAS GIVEN for the ban other that ‘persistent rule breaking’.
When issuing bans and warnings, we do not have that much field to write an essay in. If it says persistent rule breaking, then it means that Board Rules were being broken on a regular basis. The responsible Super Moderators have already explained this to you.

Without actually being informed how am I supposed to know?

As popular as I am in local circles I have not yet risen to the level where I can read minds.

You say I have offended people 4 times? Why was I only informed ONCE!?! I had ONE warning.

I’m not asking for something spectacular. If I’m getting an x against my name I should be informed. Not just the hierarchy making a decision and assuming us mere mortals know what you’re thinking.

I’m still actually completely bewildered as to why I got a warning for asking if someone is male or female because they look gay / lesbian. I didn’t realise it was offensive to look gay or lesbian.

As Alevender has said already, you were given a reason. And judging by your posts in this thread, you seem to know what that reason is. Let’s not pretend that you don’t know that several of your posts were removed because they were brought to our attention; you have received several warnings (of which you have already acknowledged yourself) so the next step was unfortunately a temporary ban, where a reason was also provided - which you have also indirectly acknowledged. Whilst we understand you may have religious beliefs as well as an autism diagnosis, the rules are in place for a reason and exemptions from said rules are simply not possible… We make every effort to ensure that this community remains a safe space for everyone. If you still disagree then we can agree to disagree, however the rules remain the rules and if infringements continue, as well as other members of the community finding your posts distressing or offensive and bringing them to our attention, then action will be taken.

Thank you.

Let’s just be clear… you assume I know the ‘infringements’ because I mentioned I asked if red Sebastian was male or female / gay or lesbian?
Apparently it wasn’t for me calling Nemo a man… you warned be after questioning sex / sexuality… apart from that I’m oblivious as to what I’ve done.

I will always call a man a man whether they believe in science or not. I will always call Conchita ‘he’ because he is a man - he calls himself a man!

Apparently I’ve broken rules 4 times you say? Why have I only been informed ONCE?

Comments being distressing? Why is using scientific terms… which every school in every country teaches - offensive?!?

Just tell me the 4 offensive comments I made. I’ve been informed ONCE and had something removed… after that I had a comment removed with no reason
