The song was ridiculous to start with. But given what they had to work with I think UK put up a decent fight in the final. It could have been much worse. I even thought there might be a chance for the top 20.

They went down in style. Very British indeed. Bless them.

I agree completely. They did the best they could with what they were handed and shouldn't be ashamed. It definitely wasn't the car crash 2010 was xshrug

And to be honest after seeing iTunes on Friday and before the final I was frankly expecting a better televoing result then it got but I guess the draw killed that chance.

I don't understand why the camera work was so lame though. ORF messed up nearly everyone's but the UK delegation gave them nothing to mess up to start with  it was just so bland and unenergetic

I was just checking back at all the votes and if we only had a televote Italy would have won, Russia 2nd and Sweden 3rd. We would have only picked up 4 points in televote and we still would have got 3 points from San Marino as they would have had no choice but to use a jury as always (they don't have a reliable televote system).

Here are the top 10 for each.

Televotes :-
1 Italy 366
2 Russia 286
3 Sweden 279
4 Belgium 195
5 Estonia 144
6 Australia 132
7 Israel 104
8 Latvia 100
9 Albania 93
10 Serbia 86

Juries :-
1 Sweden 353
2 Latvia 249
3 Russia 234
4 Australia 224
5 Belgium 186
6 Italy 171
7 Norway 163
8 Israel 77
9 Cyprus 63
10 Georgia 62

Well it’s very rare for there to be SUCH a big difference between televote and jury!! It is still early days for the recent voting system change of ranking all 27 songs, instead of just the Top 10. The major differences at the top were of course Italy, Latvia, Norway, Cyprus and Estonia.

I really like this song, but I must say that they were beyond horrible and that I was certain they will end last at the end. I really have no idea how could they mess up everything so badly. And if it was done the right way, it would have been in top 15, minimum. I can guarantee.

Things seldom seem to be done the right way when it comes to our entry lol

The juries were so bought. It makes me sick how bought they were by Sweden/EBU. The gap between their first and second . THere's noway it's so much better than others. Juries shouldn't give points to how good looking someone is. The song is a copy and makes your ears bleed. Disgusting thing that Eurovision. The whole thing is decided before hand.

I thought my family wouldn't like this entry, but they did. They applauded the fact that it was something that stood out from the rest of the entries and it was fun. xshrug

And I agree with them. I really liked this, and I even voted for it, even tho it was a prequalified entry (which I usually don't vote for)...

Never go full wiwibloggs.

Although they are nice people

When times are desperate, then full wiwibloggs is the only answer.

When you suddenly get interviewed by Paddy O'Connell most reasonable thought goes out the window

I also saw the legendary Lizo Mzimba around the press centre, I should've spoken to him

Maybe in Sweden it will be a decent contest in terms of production but in terms of everything else I see nothing but smugness, rigging, favoritism and another stupid new rule that will trash ESC even further. Only good thing will be the songs xshrug....and visiting here ;)
