Re: UKRAINE 2018

Thank you for voting The Erised song through to the finalxheart The performance wasn't perfect (especially visually) but boy was the song worth a ticket to the final on the composition alone. Get everything right and Ukraine could have their own Margaret Berget moment with this song. Something that's hard, cold and imposing, yet ever so intriguing and worth the listeners persistence. I think the potential to absolutely slay at Eurovision with this is high. "Heroes" is a big risk i'd personally take.

LAUD's song is mildly irritating. He has a good voice but... I don't know. Not really feeling the whole thing. I can't say I cared for Vilna's song either. Did nothing melodically to grab my attention. Kind of dull as far as ethno pop numbers go.

Re: UKRAINE 2018

Well, it has to be Tayanna now. Illaria would be a candidate if she scrapped the pointless English, the verses are just bad in the current form and don't fit, why did she think that adding unfitting English again would help? xshrug The chorus is nice though and the Illaria I know!

I hope the juries won't kill Tayanna's chances, I think she is the best of what's left now and the song grew on me lately, it's actually very catchy, well produced and has a fresh sound to it that would made it stand out. I hope we will see something fun and uplifting from Ukraine again, it's been years since.

Why not Dillema?

OMG I wonder if it's app voting to blame for so tight margins or people really didn't like anyone that much.

Yeah, at this point, Tayanna is the most obvious choice.

Maaaybe Illaria if she brings it.

I'm waiting first for the live rendition of "Lelia"!

If it's great one it can lift the song for me a lot.. :)

Is Леля the name of a girl?

I don't want Lelia :? It's catchy but completely uninteresting. Maybe only for result... Can she even bring us another Top-10 record?

Definitely there's not a winner among these 3. Funny how 0.17% more votes than Erised, took Vilna into the final.

Re: UKRAINE 2018

The fall of Constantine was quite expected tbh, those vocals on the studio version were too good to be true, but I'm not as sad as I usually am when my favourite doesn't make it. It feels like Ukraine has a lot of good choices, especially in the next semi. But I wouldn't mind Laud in ESC either with a small revamp to make the song more interesting. But his singing though, GOSH. That together with his looks and the way he's almost nonchalant when he performs the song makes me swoon:oops:

EDIT: He looks realreal short though

As much as I like it, juries would slaughter it in ESC xshrug

Tayanna is Ukraine's strongest shot at a good place in ESC, and if Illaria will stick to those pointless English verses that don't fit her song and bring it down then out of principle I can't support it as much.

I think Tayanna would bring back what many people miss about Ukraine; a good produced uptempo song which brings a feeling of joy with a competent performer and a cool performance instead of these depressive entries we've got lately. I liked some of Ukraine's ballads, but I do miss Ukraine bringing some fun to the stage though like in the golden days.

From Wiki:

Lelya is the goddess of love and patron saint of young girls in Historical Slavic religion.

Yes, that's right. But very often it sounds like a nice form of the full name of Olga. ;)

Re: UKRAINE 2018

1-day-stats of the Facebook live broadcast (it counts everyone tho, even those who were lurking):

Live:
Main show (2h 30 min) - 189 000 users
The results show/interval acts (50 min) - 103 000 users

The results show was watched mainly by Ukrainians while foreigners switched to other NFs.

+ 104 000 after the show.

ps. Tayanna's producer is worrying if the jury will rob her. I wish he was worrying about the rules & how to write a better song.
