Re: UKRAINE 2013

I'm absolutely AGAINST Ruslana going again. There's no way she'd win again, so why taint the legacy. And I think she's smart enough to know that so hopefully we won't see her. I can't see Ani Lorak doing better either, so she should probably stay home as well. Tina and Svetlana... depending on the song. I would however like to see Alyosha again because I think with a more appealing song she could actually win.

A-Lister, I love your suggestion of Illaria. I would love to see something like that from Ukraine. They really need to send something in Ukrainian. There must be SOMEONE who can write a beautiful song in Ukrainian for Eurovision. And even if they end up paying for it in the standings, so what. They've participated for ten years now and have not sent a song fully in Ukrainian. I say it's about time.

Irina Fedyshyn - I'm actually really surprised she hasn't participated in a NF yet (has she?). I don't mind her, but at this point, she'd just be more of what we've been getting the last few years and I'm ready for a change.

Does anybody know if Kontrabanda.com.ua band is still active? I absolutely adore this one song they did and I love the singer's voice.

Another one who would be an interesting choice is Yolka with something like Provans or Gorod Obmana.

Shima is another (new?) performer who sounds really promising.

Lavika is a hit or miss for me with their music, but they could be a potential contender.

Gosh I love this part of ESC - speculating, lol. The possibilities are endless. I have to pace myself and not post everyone I like at once. Should probably think of some male singers who could go.

I agree, about time to hear something in Ukrainian for a change, however none of the acts you posted are Ukrainian-language ones (contrabanda and Shima I've never heard of before though).

I totally forgot about Jolka, you could add her to my list.

As for Lavika, I only like that one song you posted, and tbf if anything that would be more in the style of what we've seen than Iryna, only the Lavika singer is way weaker.

As for previous entrants. Well, Ruslana would never top her 2004 success or entry I'm afraid, but if it would be between her and some lame newcomer, then Ruslana would still be better.

Ani Lorak still has potential in this, she could go with a ballad like Solnce or something, she's quite diverse. Svitlana, Tina and especially Haitana went with songs that are under their standards, I believe, all of them have potential of sending better songs and having better results.

And oh yes, add Alyosha aswell.

Yes... like this part aswell :)

^YES. I love her. But she's with Via Gra now, so I don't know what's more likely (or less unlikely): she tries out solo or the whole band gives it a shot?

A-lister, in my perfect scenario, everyone of those I posted would record a song for ESC in Ukrainian, lol.

Max Barskih was robbed this year, imo, so I would love to see him for Ukraine next year. But i can already imagine the same old scenario: An artist comes second one year with a great song, returns next year with a not-as-good song, and wins it all

I think he meant that quite often a NF runner-up competes the year after, and wins, but with a weaker song than the previous one.

However, this is not always true, but quite often though.

Re: UKRAINE 2013

^ Ty Naikrashcha spent 20 weeks at #1 in our chart becoming the most popular song of the decade.
Most def she will come back as an author.

Re: UKRAINE 2013

Perhaps Vitaly Kozlovsky can be a nice choice, with a song like this:

Ivan Dorn has a good voice:

Or Potap and Nastya:
