I joined Lastfm ten years ago today. Quite a big milestone. It's been fun tracking my listening habits for all these years, if a little obsessive at times (hear a song I like on tv? oh gotta scrobble it!). Ariel Pink actually beats Nico to the crown of my most listened to artist. Adding my plays of both Ariel Pink and Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti together gets him a grand total of 5,058 scrobbles! Here's my top 50 artists over ten years, and my top 10 songs from over that same time period.

Like Kai, I also celebrated a HUGE Last.fm milestone in November as it was my 15 Year Anniversary on November 3rd. Amazing how much time has passed since then, and yet I'm still scrobbling the same kind of music 113,000 tracks later. Though, I've certainly gained new favorite artists over the years, mostly thanks to WV and NSC.

This last year has been strange. The conventional alternative acts I listened to many years ago still stand tall on the eternal list, there is no way for others to properly catch up. There is however a notable difference in the way I now approach music in a general sense. If you had told me a year ago I would have listened to a weird Japanese pop group for hours and hours I would have doubted your sanity. In fact, a year ago I hardly listened to any music outside of my car so it would be utterly dominated by Portishead, Genesis, Radiohead, Muse and of course my own work as those are simply the albums I have loaded up in my car usually. It has been a journey, one I have enjoyed thoroughly. This community is to thank for that. Well then, thank you, it has brightened up a bleak year.
