Most likely, no. I've seen many interviews from them and their chemistry is absolutely non existent. How people are falling for this fakeness is a mystery to me...

Well, this version of Operacion Triunfo was a remake of the one in 2002,which was the most succesful tv programme ever. TVE repeated the same formula, same dramas and promotion to the favourite girl as a "very special and unique natural artist" exactly how they promoted Rosa Lopez back then... and also they have the fantastic idea to remade the love story between two of the public favourites: David Bisbal and Chenoa in 2002... Amaia and Alfred 2017/18. The formula worked, people bought the soap opera and TVE is using them as much as they can, so Eurovision was the perfect plan to get them alive before, as usual, people forget them.

These two guys are just characters to me, I can't see any chemistry either, and Alfred especially is such a bad actor.

If only Bisbal and Cheona were forgotten...

Not been a fan of any edition of OT, but I can tell 2018 and 2002 castings are completely diferent worlds. You can't compare Amaia with Rosa, and Bisbal-Chenoa with "Almaia" or whatever they are called. I didn't buy any of them, but hell no, they are not the same. Not even similar. I guess they all are TV products for domestic consumption, but well... the have evolve form "Rosa de España" in 2002 to "España de mierda" in 2018.
TVE is actually willing to get rid of both as soon as possible.

Never said they as artists are the same... but the OT formula was, it was pretty obvious how they manipulated the audience with a nostalgic first generation come-back and tv programme celebrating their 15 years... then they adapted the formula for this generation of course. Probably after Eurovision they both are not anymore the product to sell, perhaps another edition is coming or perhaps TVE has other plans... but the point is that they have been just objects to sell in market with complicity of the whole media that wanted some fresh meat, but in the end as any other industry product, they are disposable (thank you Salvador for that word)

Tbh I did believe Amaia ended up liking Alfred (and I say ‘like’, not ‘love’), but I always suspected about Alfred’s intentions with Amaia. She was a favourite from the start, and getting close to her could have been a strategy to gain more popularity. I know they knew each other in the castings, but still I think Alfed’s interest in Amaia was too exaggerated and too ‘premature’. I think it takes some time falling in love that way... So no, I don’t believe this couple is real XD but anyway Eurovision is about songs, right? You like the song or you don’t like it, we shouldn’t care about the personal life of the performers.

Basically this is true for the whole thing we call ESC, not just for Amaia and Alfred. I don't get your criticism on that point.

Indeed, but in Spain there's a lot of people believing in them as the new unique artists the world was waiting for (I've been living in Spain for a while)...but they are not. Now, after a couple of months of the OT fever, the media is already preparing the field to get rid of them criticising every single step they do, using even political issues for that (it sells a lot!) but in the winter it was obscene how they made believe Amaia was the new world superstar and their love story was so pure, innocent and never seen on tv... when it was actually as scripted as a mexican telenovela. Cringe.

I kinda like it but it sounds way too oldfashioned. I would expect to hear this on ESC 2001. While the song isn't bad, I don't think it will manage to escape the lower part of the scoreboard.

Spain is doing extremely good on YT and it is not only due to Spanish fans based on comments...

It grew on me a bit after performance in the semi..it features interesting vocals..and it doesn't look as pathetic as it looked earlier..

I can totally see Span doing Michał Szpak , and he didn';t do well only die to Polish diaspora as many ppl think.. ;)

Of course. Polish diaspora can bring Monika Kuszyńska's poor result tops. Or even worse like all PL results before 2015.

Regardless of YT views I just can't stand Spain this year. To sweet, infantile, when they were doing that "la-la-la" during 1st semi I was like "give me a gun". They and Rybak get on my nerves. Like Belarus did, and they are gone, so... keep my fingers crossed for another flops!

Rybak gets on my nerves INCREDIBLY...everybody knows me as the biggest hater of him since "Fairytale"
I didn't like Spain earlier, but now I like it more and more.. :)
