Unfortunately Serbia has been one my least favorite countries in ESC for the past decade and this song surely does not do them any favors in my personal ranking. I could tolerate "Hasta la vista" as a guilty pleasure, but "Loco loco" is the epitomy of turbofolk (is that a proper international term?) which I consider to be the least credible genre of music. In fact, it is the only genre for which I would dare make a claim that is not credible as a whole. The song lacks subtlety, buildup or a clear melody. In a different year it could stand out but right now with so many female bangers in the game I hope it stays in the semi. Besides, there are no more than 6-7 countries that would give votes to this, and not all of them will be able to vote. But Serbia has qualified with undeserving entries before so I am preparing for disappointment.

Yeah I'm not very sure if I used the term correctly. In Greece we have this genre that is commonly refered to as "skyladiko" (doggy style) and loco loco is super doggy style for me, it has this distinctive manic tempo that doesn't allow the listener to recover. The song you posted sounds to me more like folk mixed with skyladiko. It's the kind of song you 'd hear at the wedding of an aunt that gets on your nerves. Maybe that's what turbofolk is.

Ofc, the girls are hugely popular across the whole Balkan area.

because ESC has been devoid of taste since the juries got involved, and talented acts like Hurricane only have to rely on televotes and they get tanked by the juries, who think their royal ears bleed after listening to upbeat and fun songs.

btw Loco Loco >>> Hasta la vista for me, even though i was in love with the latter already and it was in my top 3 last year

But loco loco might be my all time fave esc entry with the right staging and live performance

Because there is no chance it is actually winning. People bet on something that they think will win and not on something that has written 12th to 20th place written all over it (assuming that they qualify first into the final which is not a given in their case).
