And if it wasn't for the juries Serbia would have missed the Finals in 2011 as well.
No surprise the juries would support the worst and "least Serbian" Serbian entry to date
Wow, me and my brother both voted for Caroban in the semi final, as we loved it so much. It was the first time I've ever voted for an ESC song. For me, It's one of Serbia's best entries, along with Molitva, Oro and Nije Ljubav Stvar. I actually think this year is the worst Serbian entry ever.
But that's the thing, "Caroban" was a western (almost BritPop-ish) song... the only "Serbian" thing in it was the language basically.
This one has grown on me, I totally dismissed it on my initial listen but it's actually rather catchy... For me this comes somewhere in the middle of Serbian entries for me, I find it better than Molitva (never liked that song actually), Nije Ljubav Stvar (Zeljko's weakest contribution to ESC yet) & Caroban of course... but worse than the other Serbian entries (including the Serbia&Montenegro years). "Oro" remains the best so far!
Wait a minute. You are accusing Caroban for not being serbian, and having britPop-ish elements, but in the other hand you support this? But that's the thing, "Caroban" was a western (almost BritPop-ish) song... the only "Serbian" thing in it was the language basically.

You disliked Caroban becuase its not serbian at all, but you prefer Ljubav je svuda?

And really how much more serbian is this entry from Caroban? At least that had a character,it was a clear retro, this is exactly what you said for Caroban, this is (trying to be) briPop-ish.
If Serbia would go retro on us they would have sent something more in the style of what we get from Croatia this year...
Retro klapa??? How etnical music can be retro?
I would say Oro (I still listen to it, and it has the same magic) is the most flawless song we got in years on Eurovision therefore it's by far my favorite song that Serbia ever send.
But I would never say Ljubav je svuda is the worst we ever got from Serbia, IMO that belongs to Cipela - man, that song is just...
I do not think ethnic music (like Klapa) can be considered as retro. It is a tradition having been passed on to many generations whilst doing retro means reviving a (short-lived) fashion from the past, and if you set a trend, this will again exist for a short duration of time only. The Croatian entry is not real Klapa though (hence it might sound outdated in a few years rather than cultural) but I would not find the retro term fitting here either.
Ljubav je svuda, on the other hand, is neither retro nor contemporary nor traditional but pure trash.
