I don't know how exactly I feel about this selection method. I'm a person that selfishly liked San Marino just the way it was. A country that attracts only ESC songwriter royalty from yesteryear, and wealthy Turkish game show hosts who sing like Amanda Lear. I've enjoyed (pretty much loved) every Sammarinese entry since 2012. I would like to see San Marino have their moment to shine, but I hope it can be with something I can get behind.
My wish is that Serhat applies with his friend and new duet partner, disco icon of The Weather Girls fame, Martha Wash. Three song national final featuring Valentina Monetta, The Peppermints and Serhat & Martha is really what should be happening next year.
