I'm looking forward to the revamped version of Sara's song, the preview was kinda meh (and the mixing wasn't good), the arrangements of the acoustic performance had more power imo.

Hopefully, the quiet parts will be more minimalistic, and the bridge will be beefed up.

I was wondering why her page on GlobalRockstar was missing, but they just moved it to the "funded projects" category: I didn't know she had already reached 8000 euros. :eek:

so whenever the goal is out, they automatically upload a studio version of an entry or? (or maybe not as 'Diamonds' by Emma is already up but the goal wasn't reached yet haha)

Shame I will miss this NF out to our 2nd semi :( but I might as well miss that one because I don't particularly care for any act on there, but it would be interesting to see if 1) they drew Ieva last to perform again; 2) is she an easy qualifier in the end.

The revamp was actually subtler than I expected, but I have to say the changes made improved the whole thing: it's more haunting and mastered.

The piano parts are more similar to the acoustic version now, which fits better the mood of the song. The mixing is way better: her voice isn't drown in the music during the second verse anymore, and there's a better balance between drums and piano notes.

I'm glad they included what sounds like electric guitars during the bridge, again it's not as omnipresent as I wanted to (actually it's barely noticeable) but it gives some extra power and drama a la Evanescence. Also the backing voices seem to blend in better.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the final result. Which means it'll be even better live since her voice is sharper than in this studio recording.

Good job! Now win this thing gurl! You deserve a Portuguese tan :D

"Out Of The Twilight" was stunning as a live performance, but i'm still not feeling it in studio version form. I don't quite understand the pop beat that comes in during the second verse. The song goes nowhere near as rocky as i'd like it to go. Romania rocks out harder for goodness sake. The song really can't decide what it wants to be. The production feels a bit hollow. I do like the song though somewhat despite it being not my usual kind of thing. It could maybe give San Marino a fighting chance in the killer semi.... but meh, I don't think i'd really be hyped for it in the same way I usually am with their entries.

It sounds like a demo. This song doesn't need a revamp, this song needs to be produced by a serious producer in a serious recording studio with real instruments. Now all we hear are fake instruments, you CAN'T record a song like this one with synthesized strings, guitars etc. It needs a real orchestra.

Well they had 8000 euros. I wonder what it was spent on? They could have kept things like the acoustic version and it would have worked so beautifully in my opinion. The live version gave me goosebumps but now it sounds cheap, and like a demo version as you say. Sometimes simple is better. They've tried to make it sound big and full but I think the opposite has sort of happened. I'm not getting slayed by this version. Maybe it will work better when performed live, but she deserves better production.

Absolutely stunning! The new instrumentation gives it more oomph, and Sara's voice is out of this world. She should absolutely win the whole thing on Saturday (and make it into my top 5 of my personal ranking)

Haven't paid much attention to the songs in this NF as a whole, but that Sara de Blue song is super great. I need to go listen to all the rest now.

2 Jenifer Brening - Until the morning light
3 Camila North - Yo No Soy Tu Chica - sounded elite at the start, but the rest was less so.
4 Jessika ft. Jenifer Brening - Who We are - Not fan of Jessika or the random rap in this.
5 Emma Sandstrom - Diamonds - the random pop beat in this kills it, sounds cheap for the most part but enjoyable.
6 Tinashe - Free Yourself - forgot this, but from memory I think it was ok.
7 Sebastian Schmidt - Stay - awful, dated mess #1
8 Judah - Stay -awful, dated mess #2
9 Franklin Calleja - Stay - awful, dated mess but with repugnant levels of disney #3
10 Giovanni Montalbano - Per quello che mi dai - boring and just terrible in every way
11 Irol ft. Sebastian Schmidt - Sorry - Just awful

The top 2 are both good songs, i'd be happy with either of them. The rest are just ok or meh.

The judges chose the song of the two each candidate were given that they thought best suited them. Thus why three people got the same song, but with different arrangements

I still think Sara de Blue is the one to beat though

The revamp is great.
The thought of San Marino not picking Sara would be a disaster.
