Przemyslaw Gintrowski - A my nie chcemy uciekac stad

NSC 220 brought us our most surprising success to date. This rare genre is known in Poland as poezja śpiewana (sung poetry), which means musical arrangement of pre-existing poetic text. It often has intense emotional vocals, and this particular entry stands out for strong piano work.

Cronica - Na Tej Ziemi

With our PQ entry we went back to our roots with a folk metal band Cronica. It was difficult to choose just one song. Na Tej Ziemi comes from their debut album of the same name, which was remarkably consistent, with several amazing pieces.

Ayla Schafer - Vuela con el Viento

We're showing a softer, spiritual, feminine side of our nation. Ayla Schafer comes from UK, but her musical inspirations lie in South America, indigenous traditions all around the world, and Mother Earth itself. This music is made to heal the soul.

Delta Rae - Forgive the Children We Once Were

We continue to explore music around the world. The United States are known for their many mainstream artists, but our eyes and ears are elsewhere. This nation too has its folk scene, a combination of all the cultures that once formed the original 13 colonies. Delta Rae give you this distinct "Americana" sound of the south-eastern US.

Rockself.com Festival is the oldest recurrent National Final in Natia. The formula hasn't changed since its inception - 9 returning artists, 12 international juries, 1 entry to participate in the main contest.

Some trivia:

* The show's name comes from Yaponesian entry to NSC 58. Yaponesian tycoon O.yes.nipaa is the official sponsor of Rockself.com Festival.

* There have been 64 different juries voting in 16 editions of Rockself.com, and the following countries participated the most times:
11 appearances: Ugaly @Fearnavigatr
10 appearances: Trollheimr @Stargazer, Vylkuzeme @as78
9 appearances: Waiting Iist @strajker, Zechonia @zechhh
7 appearances: Zombira @SpZ
6 appearances: Cherniya @Yoni, Kordavia @EurovisionSmile, Yaponesia @takeru
5 appearances: Doire @doctormalisimo, Illumia @Tinchey, Moisantia @theditz83, Svobodnia @Rmetr0
4 appearances, Balearica Island @Morty, Pigeon Island @Simon87, Reym-L-Dneurb @anselm, Serenes @Karhu, Tanoiro @Ana Raquel

* The highest ever scoring entries were:
125 points Caprice - Fae Fae Fae Fae Fae Fae Fae (Rockself.com 2)
123 points Foxy Shazam - Killin' it (Rockself.com 8)
119 points The Decemberists - Rox in the Box (Rockself.com 3)

* FGFGC820 - Society received a record number of top scores (5x15pts) in Rockself.com 8, but didn't win the edition, coming second to Foxy Shazam

* Xandria - Voyage of the Fallen (Rockself.com 12) was the only entry to win without receiving a single 15

* Lyriel - Paranoid Circus (4th in Rockself.com 1) was the only entry to later be selected by another country for NSC. They represented Horehronieland in NSC 70

Here are the entries for this edition!
Voting system is: 15 12 9 7 5 4 3 2 1

Thank you! We ended up with 13 voters again, one more than required, when Konthena and NBS voted within minutes after one another. The entry is confirmed, and will be announced in a moment.

Borislav Slavov - Raphael's Final Act

Some of you may remember Baldur's Gate 3 already being featured in NSC with Weeping Dawn, precisely 30 editions ago. Recently, Borislav finally got properly recognized, by winning the award for best music at BAFTA Game Awards. This is a fitting moment for this entry, to open a new act in NSC history. It's from 2023's most awarded game, it is epic, it is theatrical, and it would fit for a Disney villain better than any Disney song. Incidentally, the actor behind Raphael also won a BAFTA the same night, for the best supporting role.

Alcest - Flamme Jumelle

Bringing a new crossover genre to our library, it is Alcest who present you a blackgaze song. It's a fusion of black metal and shoegaze. Both genres share many elements: distorted sound, muffled vocals, dreamy atmosphere, and general lack of distinct melodic hook. What could come out of this fusion? You'll be surprised to find out the result is surprisingly soft, clean, and melodic.

Skaldowie - Wszystko mi mówi, że mnie ktoś pokochał

Without ambitions for a high finish, but with great joy and pride, we brought you this 60s classic. With this unabashedly cheerful entry, the message from us is love and be loved.

Myrkur - Mothlike

Myrkur is a versatile artist who's seen some success in NSC before. She's done black metal, folk, and now with her new album Spine, she dabbles in blackgaze. Yes, it didn't take long for us to try the genre again, after the very successful attempt of Alcest.

Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions - Sets the Blaze

I dedicate this entry to my dear friend beloved Hela.

Just because my love falls around in the weeds
We'll lay our thoughts for the devil to take his needs
On the rails of my darkening sureties
I rode the way to my own barbarity
All my prayers that never never set me down
From all the kindly like a discarded frown
Sets the blaze on the way to making me feel free
And now I can roam just like the breeze
Just like the breeze
