OGAE Portugal had a metting with the tourism secretary of state about strategies for Portugal to be succesful in the Eurovision Song Contest

He is a huge Eurovision fan apparently. Hopefully he can pull some strings in RTP somehow, so they can actually start trying.

One note on the revamp: the one bit they didn't change at all was the "triiiiiiiste madruga-a-a-a-ada," which was and still is my favorite part of the song. Good on ya, Portugal.

If I recall it correctly, they were dead last with juries last year and they did the same to Poland in the 2nd semi: they really wanted to kill the entries that had a folkloric feel to them.

Balkan ballads, depending on the song, are the only type of ethnic entries that the juries won't automatically sink...they don't seem to like any other kind of folk

I don't think many people know about the revamp though. Well that's RTP's fault anyway, they don't even shoot a video to present the revamped version on Eurovision's youtube channel. I doubt that anyone who listens to the revamped version would think it's the worst sing this year. They might not like it very much but no way they can think it's the worst onE.

I just listened to the revamped version, I really think it's a good improvement. Everything is way better and if Portugal doesn't qualify I'll be so disappointed.

Seriously, I would have no idea about the revamp if I hadnt watched one of those ranking videos on YT. There I heard a part of it and it sounded different to me so I decided to look for more recent uploads, otherwise I'd had no idea.

The thing is though that people don't rank the song. To many, it may not be the worst song but the problem is that barely anybody is going to put this in their Top 10. If it floats around 20th on people's list, that doesn't really help unfortunately.
