Somebody from Portugal told me Simone said she wouldn't like to spend two weeks abroad (at Vienna)...that scares the shit out of me, cause by far worse thing than her loosing in NF would be that she does the same thing like that guy from Germany did..win NF and then give the trophy to somebody else.. that would BUTCHER me completely.. xfaint :( xcry

Yes she did! When the reporter asked her if she wins she said, in a funny way that exact sentence. But I think it was a joke... Then she said she hopes it's one of the younger ones tho have the chance to raise the portuguese flag in Vienna because she already did it twice... I think she would go to Vienna... But it wouldn't surprise me if she did gave up her spot, but I think it would happen only for Yola... She praises big voices...

I think Simone and Yola will be the two in the superfinal. I prefer Yola's song.

What on earth are you guys hearing? Her song is dull as dishwater.

I would like to see Leonor win this (classy tune) or Yola but the rest will absolutely crumble in Vienna.

I'm worried now because of those words from Simone. She's saying this because she's probably an absolutely lovely lady, but she should be there to win. She might be 77 but that is no reason why she shouldn't be there in Vienna with such a touching song and performance. The young ones can come back when they've got a better song.

We're hearing something incredibly sincere and touching. To me Leonor is the one with a song as dull as dishwater. I found it so beige. With Simone's song on the other hand, I genuinely found myself moved. It was an exquisite composition and an interpretation that could only come from someone who has lived. The richness of her voice and the truth to be found within it. It was raw and touching. Something like this doesn't come around often. I was there with her, fixated for every second of it.

This is my rough translation with my poor English...

In memory of Songs
There are poems to be shout
Waves made of illusions
Which will not return to the sea

In memory there is no time
No time to sing

There are only shells, there are only legends
And a boat to sail

In memory of nostalgia
There are words I wrote
Leaving me at ease
To remember you

Do not lie to me
Or tell me what I already know

I know of shells, I know of legends
I know of a pier where I anchored

I'm in it
Waiting for you

To meet in April (Note: April is the month of the freedom revolution in Portugal)
We must listen to songs
Recorded on vinyl
Stored in basements

My love, the truth
helped discover
we have more nostalgia
from the the days yet to come

And if there are shells, and if there are legends
It's because I believed
That could bring clinging
The poems I sang

I'm in them
waiting for songs

Simone's performance has been AMAZING. And I'm one with many prejudices about those singers who came back after many years but... what a singer! How passionate she is... a really elegant song performed in a perfect way. I want her in Wien! She ruled the competition tonight!

Why must there be two such beautiful songs in one National Final? It will break my heart either way to lose one of them. Losing both isn't even thinkable.

I'm with Mrm. I adore Yola. What a stunning song and video (the bird in the cage being set freexcry1) but it just has to be Simone. In a way, it almost felt as though it was her swan song, and i'd love it to be at Eurovision. So many emotions. Portugal has a big chance to become my top country this year.

She can easily have many votes by our juries, that's for sure. Televote is something strange here...

I like Yola too, she's truly portuguese, passionate and able to sing too, but I don't know, in Simone's performance there's something really special. It will be a good way to remind a big singer on the Eurovision history with a true, honest and professional song.

I'm not in love with any of the songs. Still, my vote on Saturday goes to Simone. At least there's something real and emotional there.
Yola is clearly a fan favorite and leading the run so far. She'll probably win the whole thing, but that voice...argh...still gives me the creeps.
