As allways Portugall OGAE has a strange taste when it comes to ESC 7 pts. to UK and none to Denmark and Sweden .......:?

No points to Denmark and Sweden make Portugal the one OGAE with the less strange taste actually :p

Sweden is as usual getting very high points from the OGAEs. That was quite expected, even though they seem to be doing better than what I would have thought.
I am sure Sweden will struggle much more in May though. Especially amongst televoters.

Sweden won the OGAE vote in 2008 as well.
And last year San Marino was second.

Well.... enough said... :D

Yeah I don't give much damn about OGAE, I'll be happy if we get in top 10 in May.

The results are not gospal

They have predicted correctly 3/5 times since 2009, and had the winner in their top 5 every year except 2011. While that is true, the top 5 also contains songs that have failed horribly. 2009: Sweden & Spain 2010: Norway 2011: Hungary, Estonia & France (partly) 2012: Iceland & Norway 2013: San Marino & Germany.

As everyone has said. The results of OGAE are nothing really to be taken as what will happen in ESC. The flops are evidence of that.

The problem with OGAE and Eurovision fandom in general is, that it's a thing for gay men. There's hardly anyone else who occupies himself with predicting the outcome and making personal charts. Look at the Eurovision parties or at this forum, almost everyone's gay. And so is OGAE.

But the gay taste is prone to failure when the big night comes. Because Eurovision itself has a much broader appeal. On Eurovision night, there's just everyone up in front of the TV and the results are completely different. Swedish schlager or Valentina Monetta have the gay glam, that doesn't appeal to a broader audience, and that's why they are often overrated. I fear OGAE is overrating my beloved Conchita as well this year. But for the record, the best songs are still those from Hungary and Armenia, and they are dumped by OGAE.

My problem with OGAE is that it's a 'snapshot' of opinion that can quickly become outdated. The more songs are heard or developed, peoples opinions change. I'm sure many OGAE members would have a different personal ranking now as to when they submitted. Songs that had a buzz around them at the vote time or songs which had massive listens at the time of voting (such as Sweden through mel fest) will score higher.

I think as we approach the contest, opinions are changing and I bet of you did this again now, the results would be different.

Thats what I believe will happen, it will be Valentina 2013 all over again - I also think that the situation with Aram and Conchita may have pushed some people to support vote Conchita. It looking like they will qualify only for them to fail. As you point there is no other groups of people in any substantial numbers within things like OGAE, so the points are bound to be swayed.
