I am quite sure that Sweden and Austria will not do as well when the points are being counted on May 10th. I find both the entries very "OGAEish" (Sweden mostly for being Sweden, but also for the kind of song), Austria mostly for the song (and the fact that OGAE members are not likely to be put off by the bearded lady).

I am more surprised by how well Israel is doing! I wouldnt expect Israel do do that well with the OGAEs. Is this a sign for what might happen in May?
Another surprise is how bad Valentina is doing amongst the OGAEs.

The fact that Poland is doing extremely bad is not a big surprise. They will sure do MUCH better with televoters in May.

OGAE International ESC Poll 2014 Results

Eurovision-fr.net - Informations -Eurovision OGAE 2014 : Votes de la Pologne

Well deserved UK. :p

oh, not bad! My fellow countrymen have some music taste: 12 points to the UK. 5 potint to Sweden is too much, but at least it's not 12.

I see people here argue that the unexpected high score of Sweden and Austria is a gay phenomenon as if most of the OGAE members are gay so they tend to give points to gays and transgenders or some gay-linked composers and songs. But maybe you can't imagine that here in our Chinese Eurovision poll, our 46 voters (until now) among Eurovision fans, gave Sanna Nielsen a sum of 285 points, and she is leading the second (Ireland) with a margin of 114 points. As we only expect no more than 10 votes before our deadline (May 4th), we can say that Sweden has already won China's vote, and the transgender Conchita Wurst currently has also reached 9th place with 89 points. Yes, we long for a closed game and fierce voting procedure to see several entries competing for the first place in order to get excited, but this time our voters disappointed us again and even more with a much bigger margin than Denmark in 2013.

Despite the love for the ESC, there are neither gays nor transgenders among our voters. Here in China people see Eurovision as an event featured with cultural diversity, rather than a gay event, and love it for this reason. I think the winning of Sanna Nielsen in China means that there is surely something attractive and splendid in her song,

In China, according to an investigation, there are estimated to be more than 20 millions of homosexuals, much more than the total population of most of the European countries. But if you compare 20 millions to 1.3 billion of population, the number seems to be very small. China is a country where if you don't say you're gay, no one will ask you, when young people of our generation know you're gay they treat you as "normal people" without discrimination, while older generations' prejudice towards gays are still strong, seeing them as people with mental disorders. But anyway, most people, young or old, don't know much about the life of homosexuals, and they believe that they're too far away from them.

Eurovision lovers in China also don't expect it to become a gay event, or even an event with obvious homosexual elements, but we still choose Sweden as our winner. So I tend to believe that Sweden's win in OGAE votes don't have anything significant to do with homosexualities.

Well, I still think most europan OGAEs have members with a rather high proportion of gay people. Without knowing, I would also guess that the mean age of the OGAE voters are higher that the mean age of the televoters. That would also highly explain why some songs tend to do better.

Very good points from Russia. Many points for neighbours, and Georgia deservedly got their first points!
