COMPETING THEMES (177)

1. All Around The World: a real-world country is chosen by the host. All artists competing in this event must be from the chosen country. In the case of groups, the majority of people in the group must be from the country. The song can be in any language.

2. AATW type of Spinoff but with NSC nations

3. AI Cover Spinoff

4. Covers & Remixes 5: everyone has to send cover or remixed version of a song previously entered in the main contest, including the original versions of songs whose covers or remixes were entered in NSC.

5. Major/Minor: songs changed from major into minor key (and vice versa)

6. NSC ESC Classic: any entry from any year allowed

7. NSC NF

8. Oldies: tba, the host can decide the timeframe

When did we move into this new hosting system? In the past, the winner of a particular spin-off could only have the right to host THAT spin-off (its next edition(s), I mean). Shouldn't Kamandé only have a claim on the next Birth Year, if it ever happens again?

And don't we have this our beautiful spin-off discussion thread? Polls can be conducted in this thread, just like they were before.

Because of lack of interest/time etc. - it took ages for the last couple of spin-offs to even be decided upon, so when there are people interested in taking part and have time to host them, I figure it shouldn't be stepping on anyone's toes since if the previous winners were that bothered, they'd be more vocal about pushing for the spin-off themes to win the poll. Romeo already advised that he wants to do another NSC NSC which he will host just as soon as his holiday is over thanks to his previous win.

Also, I think the issue would be more that (unless I'm mistaken) this thread cannot be edited by any one by doctormalisimo, so it would be tougher to post polls in this existing thread. This is all just my opinion, not wanting to cause any bad feeling or drama, I just figured it was good to get the spin-offs running again.

Let's post some suggestions (Doubles and NSC JESC already on the list), and I'll start a poll somewhere around New Years. Sound good? Let's make spinoffs great again!

And I saw that [MENTION=16237]Mrvn[/MENTION] already expressed an interest in hosting? In case the winning spinoff isn't a recurring one, in which case the previous winner/runner-up gets a chance instead. :)

Gotta add tho, I feel ::rum and ::ugl shouldn't be allowed to host again until they've presented the results of Congrats 16 and the Video Game spinoff. NONO

Anyway, I suggest NSC Covers & Remixes 5. Again. :p
