I have done countless of hostings on this platform and I know how it works.

The claim that no one was/or were going to be contacted in case of, say, their vote not being correct, is completely wrong. We did not ignore such situations. An example would be Afnia this edition, in the semi finals. They had been responded to when they mistakenly voted for the same country twice and been advised to fix their votes. We did not turn a blind eye to such issues.

The like-as-response principle had been implement to ease our inboxes in routine situations(such as counting votes/accepting confirmations), so that we would not fill our inboxes with endless routine messages of "Confirmed", and instead automotize them with likes as a signal of one's enquiry being succeeded, evading inbox capacity restraints that frustrate everyone. This was discussed and adopted within the host team as we needed to keep our communication going, even when one of us would be away, the other would have access to the said votes, entries, inquiries etc. It was not meant as "no communication from the hosts, or that we will ignore you", as seen in situations where a response was needed, it was provided.

And one last thing, the said font in the confirmations thread was used as an homage to Perryfornia's runner up from the last edition, (as the title of the song is written in this manner) that made this hosting possible. It was not random, or an attempt at trolling. Once people have shown a distaste to it, we've discontinued it immediately in the following shows. Similarly, we also stopped imposing you to send your votes to all 3 of us in the final, since it was not liked. We have continuously been listening to you and improving our hosting to cater to your needs. On top of that, we have never called you names, told you to -F yourselves or leave the platform. Everyone was responded to, in the same manner that they wrote to us.

Zombira got the said response as a result of their sassy comment. As can be seen in the respective semi thread. The deadline was never canceled. The controversy regarding their votes came up due to them failing to send their votes to all hosts (especially Luke, given he was doing the counting during my absence). No one was going to cancel their votes, as they had voted within the deadline. They just needed to be redirected for the results show to be held as quickly as possible.

I thank Kordavian Islands so much for their support and being open for dialogue, as well as being neutral. No wonder they are a teacher. I applaud you.

So, mods, what happens now ? Who won ? What are the results ? What's the decision for the Xochimilia case ?
I refer you to the following quote from the NSC 228 confirmation thread.

Xhuxhmaxhuxh was proud to place in third last edition. New Bander State placed in fourth, Insomnéa in fifth and Orangualia in sixth. We are happy to welcome these nations, along with Kordavian Islands who placed in second, and the winners Tamausia & Deltannor, as prequalified nations who will go to the final of NSC 228.
As you can see, Xochimilia is not getting a PQ for at least trying to be on time, so the case is apparently closed.

Well I'm asking mostly for the mods opinion here, 'cause as far as I know, no decision was taken

We're still discussing things, so the case isn't closed regarding a PQ spot.

Whatever your conclusion about the official results are, I believe the best way to salvage NSC will be for a mod team to host next edition, with extra PQs handed out to account for the top 6 with and without Xochimilia's votes.

Please make yourself familiar with nsc rules:

4. Votes are submitted by private message to the host or, in the case of rest juries and waiting list juries, assigned vote collector.

Host is a singular word. There is no need to send votes to multiple random people.

random people
?

Hosting body comprises of a trio - Lenalite, Luke and Splash this edition. They'd prefered to keep involved collectively serving and attending each and every correspondence with participants.

Hosting body is something you have just made up. NSC rules do not forsee more than 1 host. I can accept that there were some helpers for the shows, but there is one host.

As you can see they'd preferred to do it differently and I don't remember you or anyone else while we're at it being concerned or bothered by that by any means. They're all a well-experienced and respected trio within our community with numerous previous hostings to their credit. Therefore, I see no reason for cynicism or even a glimpse of suspicion of their chosen ways and hosting protocols whatsoever.

1) I was obviously bothered by it during the semis, but they started threatening me publicly
2) Aren't we going with the rules are rules approach
3) If you do not see even a glimpse of suspicion regarding the way how they host things... then you somehow are living in a different reality than however many people have posted in this topic about suspicious activities.

Then, as had been advised, you should've either tagged a moderator to ensure the safe delivery of your votes to all interested co-hosts in a timely manner, or since you adopt a one-host principle, you should have simply sent them to Perryfornia (as they were the main host of the edition, who placed 2nd the edition before, and accepted the hosting), and not me.

I am not going to argue with you or anyone else regarding this hosting anymore. As there can be no valuable communication with people who are ignorant of facts or willingly choose to distort them.

Remember, you only get the energy that you put out to the world. :))

The poll in the private forum is now closed. The results of the poll are as follows.

Should Xochimilia's NSC 227 Final votes be counted?
Yes: 45
No: 3
Abstain: 9

Xochimilia's votes will therefore be added to the final results. A spreadsheet with the amended full results is available at the following link:

FULL RESULTS: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ARCzzOvceNMySZM9UAf0QC034CvXaOh1/

Previous PQs:
Tamausia & Deltannor
Kordavian Islands
Xhuxhmaxhuxh
New Bander State
Insomnéa
Orangualia

New PQs:

Xochimilia
Tamausia & Deltannor
Kordavian Islands
New Bander State
Griffin Empire
Xhuxhmaxhuxh

In the interest of fairness, Insomnéa and Orangualia will still be awarded PQ spots in NSC 228, meaning we will have 8 PQs and a 30-nation final. Congratulations to @Buranovskiy for winning NSC 227 and to our new PQ @randajad for coming 5th!

I just want to clarify one thing, since it was brought up to me by @takeru.

If one of the PQs does not enter NSC 228, then we usually give their PQ spot to the 7th place nation instead. Since 7th and 8th place are Insomnéa and Orangualia, this means that there will be no replacement PQ, since 7th place already has a PQ spot. So technically the final could be 29 or even 28 nations if this happens.
