Congratulations Kadis, you had a great entry. And thank you all for a top 20 finish, I really appreciate everything - here's hoping that this is the start of something good for Sakuralia! xclap

SEMI 1

SEMI 1 REST JURY

SEMI 2

SEMI 2 REST JURY

FINAL

WAITING LIST JURY

Full spreadsheet (available both sorted by total score and sorted by draw)

Do note the tie in Semi 2's rest jury, a very unusual situation. Mormadorei had a 6 point bonus, but still had more voters than Endórë. I consulted with the mods, and we were in agreement that the tie-break rule of "the bonus doesn't count as a voter" does not mean the bonus points themselves are subtracted, only that it's not quantified in the "count the voter" stage of tie-breaking.
(Tybalteva was also involved in the tie, but was qualifying regularly anyway.)

So here we are! My sixth (fifth? Who hosted 204 really?) hosted edition has come to an end! Even though I did all of Congrats 21 in Die in the Disco's honor, I still couldn't really shake the feeling that I owed NSC a hosting. So when I got my first ever opportunity to accept a hand-me-down hosting (epically all the way down from 7th nonetheless!), and the timing being just perfect, it was a pretty easy decision!

I didn't set out to outdo myself this time, I wanted to do something that was manageable and wouldn't take too much time, while still doing a graphical show that didn't cut corners. Partial success, it still took more time than I wanted and an extra all-nighter to get the banners done, but I managed to plan it very efficiently around my work schedule!

I'm quite satisfied with how the show turned out anyway, despite the relative simplicity. Nintendo is pretty much my all time #1 hobby, and was already heavy on my mind due to the lingering eShop closure when I was deciding on a theme. I figured I could pull it off while still differentiating it enough from my Super Smash Bros. Brawl-themed hosting in NSC 73 (not to mention Norm's Pokémon theme just two editions ago). Anyway, all your kind words of encouragement throughout the edition have meant a lot!

I loved this edition from the start, almost 30 songs made my playlist! Results-wise however, the semis left something to be desired, especially in semi 1 where I lost my entire top 8...
As for the winner, though Kadis' song wasn't a personal favorite it seemed to have a wide cross-pot appeal, so I totally respect it for that, and Kadis is on a very impressive streak! Massive congratulations, Oualid!

But I definitely want to highlight my own result! This is my most successful host entry by a good margin, and in fact it's my most successful PQ entry of all time! (It ties with Frog's Theme position-wise, but that got fewer points, and it was in a final of 28.) I had "flowers" lined up for this edition long before PQing or hosting was on the table, and was feeling pretty good about sending it. Given the general expectations for PQs (I've had some pretty miffing last places to be honest), 18th is amazing! Thank you so much for all the points! xheart xheart xheart

Thank you for this edition! I hope you enjoyed your stay in Ugaly! This is Jochen saying good night! xwave

...
I'm not quite done though. I haven't finished writing it all up yet, but will hopefully be able to post it tomorrow. I am going to reveal the reasons why each song was paired with their respective Nintendo games!
(EDIT: Work said nein to that, maybe tomorrow Friday)

Congratulations ::kad & Oualid! :giggle: A month ago, this song lost by 1 point to a classic from Patricia Kaas, in the monthly Eurovision Artists Contest, while I was hosting (eurofo.eu). It was my 12 points and it was very frustrating. It's all deserved now!

This finale just wore me out! xangry I listened to it 3 times and swapped out 18 (!) songs. There were 3 songs here that I knew before and love very much, but I hope these nations won't be mad at me for ending up with 12 points going to a song I heard for the first time...
Thank you to everyone who voted for NBS & LYRRE! These are challenging times and a very nervous environment on the eve of important 🇺🇦 events. That's why this PQ is so amazing and extremely dear to me! xlove I will most likely take this chance and submit some Ukrainian song, this time more risky and weird.

У Гали hosting is awesome again, thank you @Fearnavigatr! xup

Finished better than I expected tbh, but was really hoping for that last push into the top ten after getting a late push of votes! Merci à tous who voted for Bon Entendeur.

Congrats Kadis yet again on another victory, apparently video game themed editions are quite good for your entries!

And thanks, Jochen for, once again, a professional and well-done hosting! Very nostalgic feels for sure!

Sincere congratulations to ::kad Kadis! Winning again in such a short period of time looks really impressive. :D

I'm definitely not disappointed about my 16th place. I absolutely LOVED this final, it definitely was one of the strongest ones for me (I liked 20 songs in total and it felt really bad to leave 10 good songs without points). So, I wasn't expecting a top result with such a great competition.

Thank you all so much for supporting ::rah "Runaway Princess". xheart

Btw, I expected ::slf to do much much better, that song even sounded like a winner to me. I'm kind of shocked.

Huge respect to ::ugl @Fearnavigatr for the hosting! Everything was really great, and I LOVED the banners and the scoreboards. This will definitely be an edition to remember. :)

Wow from barely qualifying on my semi to getting 4th place in final. NSC never ceases to amaze me lol i love this rollercoaster.

this song has been on my list for both WLSC & NSC for quite some months, I am glad to trust it in the right time. Thank you for your votes everybody! xhug

And my final :12: winning was just the cherry on top! Congratulations ::kad & Oualid xcheer Barquinha, along with Piramide de Rocio & Olivia (my 10 & 8) went straight to my all time faves list. Congratulations to Tybalteva & Dalisska for top10 finish as well!

Last but not least... Effiland's delegation feels incredibly honoured to have witnessed the talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before hosting megahouse that is Ugaly. Exceptional show Jochen xbow
