Hmm... first year since 2005 i havent made charts of the year
I think i cant make a Top100 of this year... 2012 was for me a year with a lack of interest on new music and i havent get to know much of it (exclude NSC/FSC and the swiss music market).
Okay, here are 111 Songs of my year 2012. I've written some comments to some of them, but for another audience and because of that they are only readable for the german speaking part of the community (hope that in this case this isnt a problem, that i let tem here). Oh... and the nations are also written in german, sorry.

Wie dieses Jahr doch recht vieles (immerhin 25 Songs aus den 111) von meiner Playlist, kommt auch dieser Song von Schweizer Künstlern da der Schweizer Musikmarkt die einzige Quelle war, die ich 2012 nicht vernachlässigt habe . Cooler Gitarrenpop mit stimmigem Video, klingt eher britisch denn nach Alpenland. Die Band hat übrigens auch deutschsprachige Songs auf ihrem Album "Endzeitpop".

Eine Band aus Kanada, die im Gypsy-Jazz-Style einen alten Techno-Hit covert, schon irgendwo eine merkwürdige Kombination... aber es funktioniert wie ich finde und hat sich bei mir zu einem ganzjährigem Ohrwurm entwickelt. Witzig auch das Video, in dem die Dame doch sehr an das Originalvideo errinnert.

Dass hier ist allerdings nicht verwunderlich ^^ Das Clazziquai Project veröffentlicht bald ein neues Album und das hier ist die erste Single daraus, mal kein elektronischer Song als Vorbote, sondern ein sehr akkustisches Stück Musik, so gefällt mir Radiopop! :wub:

Würde der Sänger nicht soviel Emotionen in das reinlegen, was er singt, dann wäre es wohl ein Song unter vielen, da man den Text ja nicht versteht... so habe ich mich aber beim ersten Mal in den Song verliebt. Die Übersetzung der Lyrics (siehe Video) hat dass dann nur noch gesteigert, sehr bewegend. :heul:

Hätte ich nicht erwartet, dass Katy Perry es mal in meine Jahres-Top10 schaffen könnte Aber durch die tollen Lyrics, das tolle Video und ihre hier sehr angenehme Stimme hat sich dieser Song zu einem heftigen Ohrwurm entwickelt.

Hauptthema eines ganz unterhaltsamen französischen Computeranimierten Films, an dem aber die Musik schlussendlich doch das beste ist, das Monster ist dabei übrigens ein riesengrosser Floh, der aber ganz harmlos ist und viel lieber Musik macht, als jemanden was anzutun. Wie immer habe ich dieses Lebenszeichen meines französischen Lieblingskünstlers schlechthin (-M-) gierig aufgesaugt und es ist auch ein wirklich schöner Chanson geworden :wub: Es gibt übrigens auch eine englischsprachige Version, bei der Sean Lennon den männlichen Part übernimmt.

Bei Adrian Zaar habe ich mich wie bei einem anderem Künstler ein wenig zusammen gerissen und nicht das ganze Album aufgenommen, auch wenn es deutlich mehr Songs von ihnen verdient hätten bei den 111 dabei zu sein. Das Lied hier ist entsprechend dem Titel ein sehr ruhiger Song und lebt in erster Linie von den Lyrics.

Now it's time to take a look at who made it to our year-end Top 10...
10. Saint Pepsi - Mac Tonight!
You're probably thinking "Who?" and you'd be right. Little known vaporwave artist Saint Pepsi worked his way to dizzying heights in Cydoni-Gibberia in 2013. Mac Tonight! is a 2 minute burst of deliciously 80s retropop with hints of chillwave and new wave music mixed in. He never quite made it to NSC, partly due to the knowledge of his obvious failure at the contest, but he becomes a firm favourite at home and bags the 10th position in this countdown.
9. Mat Zo & Porter Robinson - Easy (Cydoni-Gibberia 97)
One of our favourite NSC entries of all time, Mat Zo & Porter Robinson have had a successful year in Cygo (not least Mat Zo, with various entries in this Top 100), gaining the same position in this countdown as they did in the contest. Borrowing inspirations and elements from Daft Punk and their own knowledge of the EDM circuit, Easy is a prime example of quality dance music in the 2010s, and has already become a classic in Cydoni-Gibberia.
8. Everything Everything - Choice Mountain
A surprising top entry for Everything Everything, who have a near-domination this chart. Despite the singles and successes seen in NSC and the extensiveness of their back catalogue, it was album track Choice Mountain that recieved the most airplay and sales this year in Cydoni-Gibberia, just narrowly beating recent NSC success Duet. With walls of guitar noise and an effortless build from beginning to end, the track captured the imaginations and hearts of Cydu people this year, and has well earned it's #8 ranking.
7. Lemâitre - Excuse Me
There are no surprises with how successful Lemâitre were in 2013, after releasing their back catalogue to the nation towards the end of December 2012. As a result, almost their entire collection has appeared in the Top 100 and Lemâitre took 2013 by storm, becoming Cydu superstars overnight. Despite their music not translating as well abroad, few in Cydoni-Gibberia can argue against their perfect blend of electro, glitch and pop sounds.
6. Lemâitre - Come Again
Appearing once again, this short 2 minute track was repeated ad infinum this year. Despite a sample that many would consider 'annoying' or 'fucking awful', the nation has bought this song in their droves and have placed it monumentally high on this countdown.
5. Bombay Bicycle Club - Carry Me
With the track bubbling under for most of 2013, with only live performance recordings available on the internet, the lead single from Bombay Bicycle Club's upcoming 2014 album was released last month to wide approval in Cydoni-Gibberia, racking up dizzying amounts of airplay in a short space of time. Despite their relatively quiet 2013, the band have three tracks in this countdown and have further solidified their fanbase in the nation.
4. Studio Killers - Jenny (Cydoni-Gibberia 100)
Few would have imagined that one of the most successful acts this year wouldn't even exist. Studio Killers, a virtual band appearing to be based in Finland were chosen to represent the nation at the historical 100th edition, and just missed out on a fourth Top 10 placing in a row for the island. Despite this, Jenny remains the fourth most popular song of 2013, albeit still lacking a music video.
3. Bombay Bicycle Club - It's Alright Now
It's Alright Now has only had a few weeks to make an impact, but make an impact it did - after just a few weeks of airplay it sits at #3 on the 2013 list. Part of the song's charm is that it's pretty difficult to describe what makes it so addictive, but once you listen to it twice you'll suddenly find your plays creeping up and up as it leaves you wanting more. Analysts in Cygo have predicted 2014 to be the year of Bombay Bicycle Club, and it's difficult to argue against that.
But what made our top two?
2. Ivan Gough - In My Mind (Axwell Remix) (Cydoni-Gibberia 99)
The most played dance track in Cydu history, nearly achieving a second prequalification at NSC and finishing in 2nd place in this countdown. It's been a good year in this nation for Ivan Gough and Axwell and their NSC 99 entry has already achieved all-time classic status, surpassing the expectations of the national broadcaster in terms of results and becoming part of a record run of results.
1. Lemâitre - Time To Realize (Cydoni-Gibberia 91)
Here it is, the number one song in Cydoni-Gibberia for 2013. As if you were surprised. By far the most played song this year after being discovered late into 2012, our NSC 91 entry was always considered as an injustified result in the contest. Nonetheless, a year later it is still incredibly popular and has rightfully earned its #1 status.
