The channel itself is owned by the government and King. It's trying to break its own taboos?

I know the King is pretty liberal-minded but that sounds kinda weird as you put it.
That's the general impression yes - these rumours have been around since 2008ish?

EBU invites all the broadcasters so if they haven't said no yet maybe they are considering it, who knows. Last year SNRT said they didn't rule out a participation in the future.
SNRT doesn't have EBU membership though right?

SNRT does. They were the ones that participated for Morroco before. The other broadcaster, 2MTV don't have, but are applying for it, and I think they said they're interested on the ESC.

A statement on 14th September 2013 by SNRT which contacted esctoday did state they did not rule out participation in the near futre which they might be still considering it
Plus if they are considering it the main factor of participation is to promote the country and its VISION 2020 by having 20 million visitors and tourist by 2020

We'll see, but I doubt it stongly. If there were plans for a return in 2015, they would have formulated the statement in another way, like "considering a participation" instead of "not ruling out a participation". Plus, the statement is now quite dated, and has there been any other announcements in the recent past?

Personally I hope Morocco will never take part anymore, one time was already more then enough. I also don't understand this threads about Morocco and Tunisia created in this forum, for what? For which discussion? Kazakhstan ok, it's partly in Europe, but Morocco has nothing to do with Europe, European music or culture.

It's created because they can apply for entering Eurovision because they have a broadcaster who has an EBU-membership.
And I don't see in the Eurovision Song Contest anything that says only European countries could enter

What can people write here? That Samira Said must go again??? That's all... And because of this thread, where a discussion is totally senseless, people will only write now about if Morocco should take part or not because it is not European blablabla...
