Nah, they're not trolling because they're hiphop, but looking at the clips I really can't take this band serious. I mean Montenegro reggeaton? That song comes across as a pure joke song to me.

Almost every type of exyu hiphop is like that.

^^ Exactly.

I understand that this is not generally a "ESC fan" material, but not everything that jumps out of established templates is trolling.

We should have artists of different genres on this competition, not just 1 or 2. That would be deadly boring.

And, besides, we still didn't hear the song, so I think a little more patience is needed.

I'll choose Rambo Amadeus and Who See over all these cliche booty-shaker La La Loves and Aphrodisiacs any day, so bring it on, Montenegro has a chance to end up in my top-10 again if the song is at least as funny as Euro-Neuro :p

Not every album released in the Balkans contains only of Joksimović-penned ballads. These guys have been the best Montenegrin "export" this year, and people across the region love them. I'm glad that my country has stopped sending bland pop songs, too bad that ESC-fans disrespect variety and originality. This girl's probably going to join them on stage, since she's collaborated with them on several songs, you might wanna hear some of her stuff:

Btw, Milena Vučić is one of the worst vocals ever, so it would be a major flop if she appeared on a non-playback festival.
58th minute - enjoy :p

Yeees. I've been following Who See for a few months now. Great choice. It all depends on the song, but I think Montenegro will be very high on my list this year

And rappers don't even need a voice to begin with

Flop choice Montenegro!

Rappers rap, singers are SUPPOSED TO sing. Unless they're hot females. Which she's not really :geek:

Rappers are sorta useless, I'm thankful I grew up from liking such nonsense.

There are some rappers I can still tolerate, but then the whole product better be really good.

I'm not really a hip-hop fan myself, but I still think that there's more wisdom and things that make you think about the world you live in in, let's say Eminem's or 2pac's lyrics than in, for example, Ruslana's or Carola's :)
+ it's undeniable that it takes a lot of skill and practice, so I don't know why you disrespect the whole subculture so much. I thought ESC was all about opening your mind

I'm no fan of rap myself, though I do enjoy Flo-rida's style which I find more melodic and pleasant to my ears. But calling rappers useless is a very unfair statement and a big generalization. It is a popular music genre and has every right to be represented at Eurovision so the fact that it's not soothing to your ears doesn't make it less legit. Rapping is not as easy as you think it is.

That being sad, I checked several clips of "Who see" and I find their music horrible. Maybe they can come up with something different for ESC but I think that's rather unlikely. And yes, I understand that this style is somewhat popular in certain Eastern European countries but the Western ear will most likely not really find this kind of music appealing. Plus it is more of a niche genre to begin with in other countries, it's going to be difficult to conquer the mainstream listeners. But as said, maybe they'll surprise us all (though were were hoping for the same with Rambo Amadeus)

Indeed. I dont really like rap, but I respect the people who do. Besides, it's always bad to generalize anything, including rap!

Some years ago I was a big fan of HipHop, but I grew out of it tbh. Well, just because something is popular doesn't mean it has to be good? Now I just can't stand it destroying decent songs. SOME rappers I still listen to though, I really liked Kanye West + Jay Z's album released the other year for instance, but in general I'm no fan any longer and it's so non-European and has been forced upon us by the USA basically (no offense USA!).

How is taste generalizing? If one doesn't like something then that's so right? It's not generalizing to dislike a certain type of music genre.

Re: MONTENEGRO 2013 - Who See

I am also very sceptical to Who See representing Montenegro. I am no fan of rap, and in the ESC it really havent worked well up untill now - nether for me nor for the general public (judging from how it has done so far). I guess one of the reasons why it has not worked is that that lyrics are normally important, and most of Europe will miss the lyrics if not in english....
I do enjoy Reggaeton a lot though!! But I normally prefer the latin versions of reggaeton.
