Mark Anthony Bartolo: the song is decent, but what did they think when they created the staging? He looks like a temp in a flower shop. Also the transition between breast voice and falsetto are really shaky and need a lot of improvement to sound good. But the biggest problem - he doesn't sell the song, his whole performance is very amateurish and fragmented.
Raquela Dalli: also a fine act. Nothing special in terms of lyrics or melody, but listenable. And that's not enough to stand out, imo.
Kristy Spiteri: That's an interesting one. I like the mix of a few operatic elements with the beat and a nice melody both in the verses and the chorus. With the right staging this could do well in Basel.
Justine Shorfid: That song feels unfinished for me. The verses are VERY generic - heard them a thousend times without remembering. The chorus starts well, but then makes nothing out of it. In many elements - arrangement, musical ideas, rhythm, you see the idea, but they are not elaborated and all this doesn't really fit together.
JVF: Was the initial idea Keiino that somehow got stranded on a random Mallorcan beach? I can see myself liking it after a couple of beers and feeling ashamed for it when I'm sober again.
Adria Twins: The song is nice, but doesn't catch me. But again the staging, the choreography and the camerawork need a total make-over, especially in the first part. A deserved final place though, I suppose.
Victoria: The vocals are strong, the song is a bit basic but enjoyable. I'm just getting tired of so many Goddesses this year. But it's a powerful entry that I can see playing a role in the final decision.
Kurt Calleja: another fire-desire.

After the intro, the song gets more interesting. A decent entry I'd say, but probably a fader after a few listenings.
So - for me one clear favorite in this semi: Kristy Spiteri.
