I don't see nothing wrong with that, and I am actually very interested how it works it out. We can evaluate afterwards if a slimmer event is more beneficial and equally entertaining, or a huge one.

It was a controversial decision, not so much in Sweden but among Eurovision fans. SVT wanted to set focus on the TV show. They thereby acknowledge the challenge to really make the event extraordinary in terms of technique and new ideas. No one can deny that this is a good thing. When it comes to the budget I think one must remember there are different ways to count. For example, I doubt new TV equipment and other hardware will affect the budget much since they are investments (therefore no immediate cost). I also think almost all of the needed infrastructure is already present.

I think this sounds great! Bigger isn't always better - not even in Eurovision. I've never been a fan of the huge, vast and empty stage look the recent years have given us. I'm all for going back to the roots.

And I don't think anyone needs to worry really. If you think Melodifestivalen usually looks good, then Eurovision 2013 will too! :)

Smaller isn't better either, and Melodifestivalen tend to look bad...

I have very low hopes.

I have been thinking and i hope this is what it will look like:

Stage: something in Oslo's style and size
Hosts: Sarah Dawn Finer, Måns Zelmerlöv, Gina Dirawi

Semi Final 1: Eric Saade - Hotter Than Fire. Timbuktu - Flickan och Kråkan

Semi Final 2: September - Mikrofonkåt. Laleh - Some Die Young

Final: Loreen - Euphoria, My Heart Is Refusing Me. Calvin Harris - Feel So Close (dedicated to the country that ends up 2nd and 3rd(

Traditionally there will be a cover of Euphoria (last year winner song) performed at Melodifestivalen final and the last year winner (Loreen) performing a new song. :)

Don't know what the tradition is in Eurovision though.

We gotta be honest with Malmo and the crime issue. Disturbing article

Malmö Crime Watch: Police Break up Mass Brawl

Hmm... Malmö has some serious problems, but that blog seems like it's making fun of the actual problems.

Oh well, the choice have been made by SVT... Denmark will be the economical winner and Sweden will stand there as a fool in front of Europe.

Nothing will change that now.
