I understand that, I think my issue was her earrings, given the flowy outfit and the fabric print. Also her backup singers having different fabric prints that kind of clashed with her?

Did not follow Supernova in 2017, decided to join the party this year.
Here is my short opinion about this semi final: most of songs were really, really disappointing. I don't even want to remember song number one, that was definitely the biggest mess of the evening. Song number 2 was quite charming, it is a little sweet song but I am afraid it would be too little for the ESC stage, especially in that semi Latvia is in. Songs number 3 and 4 were kind of hopeless as well, DVINES reminded me of Slovakia 2011 which is a thing I hate. They sounded very flat as well. Same for the fourth participant.
Sudden lights was the best song of this evening for me by far. Such a nice and relaxing tune. What about Kreilis... these electronic pop/edm songs always leave me cold but I think this could work and I am quite sure it will qualify for the final tonight. Did not feel the last song as well.
As for the hosts: horrible. They can't even speak and their jokes sound bland and dated to my ears.

Edgars was probably the strongest song of the night so I'm okay with him going through, nicely done. But what am I missing here with Liene? That song is as bland as a saltless rice cake so that was a shocker, my least favorite of the night. Those NFs never cease to amaze me but that's why I love Eurovision!

Liene has a strong voice and her performance has been convincing. She is scandalously known in Latvia for criticising the government, so I believe that everybody has believed what she had sung in that song. She is widely known in Latvia and she has a polarising effect: many hate her, while others love her.
