She is sexy. She needs a new dress. :D The song, I struggle to remember it, but I remember her stage presence.

When I listened to all the songs back in October, I was so disappointed, cause I only liked one out of more than 60 entries... But it actually ended up winning! I'm so happy right now :D

Absolutely gutted for Madara but Funny Girl has grown on me so much over the last few days so I can't be too upset. It won't win Eurovision but I don't think my streak of voting for my family's country every year is in any danger of being broken.

MY COUNTRY WILL BE (sort of) REPRESENTED IN EUROVISION I CAN'T BELIEVE DREAMS COME TRUE AND HEAVEN EXISTS *sweeps the ghost of natalia kelly under the rug*

but really she could be of any nationality and this would still be my favourite so far. the song in itself would not be my favourite i think but NOBODY sells their song as well as laura. the staging matches it beautifully. she is FLAWLESS.

also personally latvia has gone 4 for 4 since supernova was introduced so i am proud of them. it's one of the better NFs around now. laura wasn't even my fave in the final lol i was #TeamMadara from day one. YOU GO LATVIA. the other countries don't have an excuse to suck if latvia of all countries became good at eurovision.

She's the first brazilian in the contest right? :)
the closest thing was natalia kelly's brazilian mother and, like, with THAT song i would recognize bebi dol's brazil as our representation before her

As a composition, this is perhaps my favorite of the year. I really, truly love that melody in the chorus. But I think in Laura's somewhat whiny hands, it's sort of undersold. She makes it sound kind of limp. She isn't really supporting the notes and, as a result, doesn't really sound assured of what she's singing. While it is my favorite composition, it kind of needed someone to give it punch and life - the words "a Christina Aguilera type" swirled through my head when I first heard this.

6 points for now. I'm conflicted and will surely get over half of my opinion, driving the score way up or way down.

AshleyWright world class comment! 10/10 xbow

About the song: Hmm this song idk what to make of it, it has this casino/James Bond'ish vibe which I rly hate but here it's actually quite alright. I actually kinda like it. I need a sexier outfit from her in Lisbon tho :> She's definitely a great perfomer. Chances the song will grow on me/start to annoy me are kinda equal I think.

6 pts for now ^^

I'm disappointed. Just when I was really starting to warm to Madara. Serves me right I guess for taking this long.

"Funny Girl" I have no connection with. As a piece of music it's somewhat interesting, and it has the potential to be a really sultry number, but it just leaves me feeling quite cold. Laura is beautiful and seems very nice. Hmmmm I don't know. I'm recalling my first reaction to "Love Injected" which was a negative one, so i'm wondering if there's any hope for me here. That song was jarring though so I needed time to adjust. "Funny Girl" isn't jarring. As a piece of music it feels too one-track. It will be a singular piece in Lisbon for sure, but will it connect with people? I'm going to give 5 points in the poll.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA the overhyped sleeping pill didn't win. omg, best day of my life. I'm actually almost sad as I was so prepared and excited to write a wall of text completely destroying the song for a second time. Latvia clearly wasn't bought by the epic flop that was that Madara song, straight into a cold dark grave it goes for all eternity. Now onto what actually won... Let me just go listen.

hmmm... ok. Well this is a 4997997945979x better than the tragic cut throat boring Madara but I don't find it all so amazing. It's a very classy song and something I imagine a UK Jury enjoying quite a bit. This is definitely the right sort of singer for this song, I picture this being sung in some sort of lounge somewhere. I do think it's quite an alright song, 6 points.

I think this is a bit ridiculous. Why can't you open your mind and accept that other people have different opinions? You seem to characterize every other song that doesn't belong to the pop genre as a sleeping pill nowadays. Is it that hard to understand that maybe people feel different things when they hear theses songs than you do, instead of putting everything on the same 'overhyped fanwank' bag like this comment just did? And then make fun of people for their favourite losing, really? I for one feel like the song really relaxes me in a deep level and puts me in a good place, it makes me feel a better and more optimistic after the 3 minutes has ended, kinda lika an holistic, healing music vibe, you see?

I don't want you to take this as a personal attack nor anything like that, but I have seen this kind of comments in different threads and it's bugging me . People saying they can't wait to see fan's tears and stuff like that (not necessarily posts from you) Jesus just chill and realize that people have different opinions and different tastes. Once again, not directed only at you and this comment in particular, it's just something that has been bugging me and it's now reached the point where I have to say something

By the way, as I said I really liked Laura as well. I definitely agree with the last part of your comment, she really is the right singer for this kind of song, and her performance skills are amazing! She manages to be sexy and classy at the same time. This will probably be my #1 for now, and the first song that made me immediately give it 12 points in the poll so far.

Eh. This... isn't offensive, and it's got decent production, but it doesn't interest me much. I would've been happier with a bunch of others, especially Madara or Ritvars.

That said, I'm not too annoyed by the results, since there was nothing here I absolutely adored; my favourites probably just would've ended with a mid-table spot in my rankings, rather than a low one like this will now get. And at least I can understand how Funny Girl has some appeal, even if it's not something I'm huge on personally and I think it needs to build more throughout. Glad to see other people enjoying it.

For now... 3 points, I guess?

Calm down. People can hype songs to the heavens and back, but i must keep it shut when I absolutely despise a song? smh. I fully accepted other people like it, I don't actually remember ever saying people couldn't like it or attacking them for it. If people take it personally when I directed no one on this forum then it is their problem and not mine, I'll still sleep well tonight. I just shared my 100% honest opinion of the song, no holding back. It's a free an fair forum.

Stop. making. Eurovision. so. generic. Just song is so inoffensive I don't feel anything towards it. It's just .......there.

How this could have beaten refreshing, original and stand-out artists like Madara, Sudden Lights and Ritvars is beyond me. I'm now even more happy AWS won A Dal, or else my all results would've dissapointed me this evening. Yet none has dissapointed me more than you Latvia. You had the most potential, and you almost got the least out of it.

:( xcry xcry1

I was too afraid to watch the voting here..and it seems rightfully..but maybe if i have watched it i’d bring her more luck! :(

This is the worst composition of the year for now…..smth like this makes a bad reputation for ESC,…she is so artificial for this song and this is really ESC cheesy…

I hope she will flop, not because of her, but because I don;t want safe, boring, uninspiring songs like this to win in NFs full of bold choices..

Her outfit is bad too..

The bottom of my list!

And first 0 in the poll from me this season..

THE GOOD:
-This is a perfect execution and blending of vocals and instrumentals.
-I feel her pain coming through in the song.

THE BAD:
-Nothing to say here.

THE VERDICT:
Consider this one of my favorites to win. This is in the same vein of "Rise Like A Phoenix" (another winning song) in that it wouldn't be out of place as a James Bond theme. It takes a lot to impress me, but this song has done it and has gotten my first "douze points" of the contest season. Reason is that it's a well-executed R&B song, and Laura's vocals really come through in the song. 12 points

You are free to do as you like, but the fact you need to express how much you hate 'Esamiba', even when talking about the winning song kind of gives negative vibes. Like you hate 'Esamiba' more than you have liked any of the other songs. It's like a fan of sports team that puts more effort in talking down their rivals than actually supporting their own team.
