That's good news for me, but seriously, Nek already has a big name. "Laura non c'è" was Number 1 in several European countries. With such a record artists hardly join Eurovision, and for Italian artists Eurovision is even less intriguing.

I don't think having one international hit in 1997 = big name. I didn't even remember him until I listened to Laura non c'e.

He's very famous in Spain. He was in NF the year of ESDM.

I haven't heard "Eurovisione", "Song Contest", "Vienna" not even once tonight. It was completely out of the picture.

San Remo winner has right to represent, but San Remo isn't NF for ESC entry and never been. It created few years before ESC and it was even more popular in some countries then ESC (for example in USSR translated San Remo every year while no one heard about Eurovision at all)

And again if someone goes to Eurovision, they should cut song from 3:40-4:00 (most of them) to 3:00 :?

Other people have said Nek is interested in reviving his internarional career.....so ESC was not out of the question.
