I can understand the disappointment as Italy are renowned for sending high quality entries to eurovision, and Il Volo feel very much like their own version of a novelty act with the camp "popera" thing going on. I guess Il Volo are exactly the type of stereotypical act that Europe would expect from Italy and it would be sad if they conform to this by sending them to Vienna.

1. Il Volo / Nek (i love both songs in the same way, so it completely impossible for me to decide )

Mia Città was far from high quality and Madness of Love was so high in quality, everyone fell asleep.

Il Volo is far superior than the average European Eurovision act and it's definite winning material. A winning act has to go well with the crowds, self-proclaimed quality only goes well with snobs.

But Raphael and Nina set the bar for Italy so incredibly high with their amazing entries, it was always going to be tough for Marco and Emma to follow but their entries were very solid, in my opinion.
And it's debatable about Il Volo being better than the average eurovision act.
