I agree, her song was too monotonous for eurovision, her vocals heren't there(she also was, allegedly, sick so I can kind of excuse that) and the choreo was half-baked, but there where some good visuals, particularly in the second video that, wheren't shown on tv.hm i don't think that rehearsal footage makes it really better. (though the camera angle where they pull the sword out was especially atrocious during the live show). the song is really cool but whatever they had in mind for thtat performance was just not (and u can have good ideas without having a budget, but imo this was not the case here)
bobbis staging was simply not good, but i think u cannot judge the performances there that much on their staging, i've been quite vocal before that the production of the late late show is just so bad that it's imo impossible for any act to really look good on that stage. bambie looked very amateurish aswell and look what they did in malmö
about the panel: iit's questionable if a panel that gives their impression is needed at preselection shows, imo it's not, but what they said was not wrong and it wasnt rude either. maybe its not what samantha mumba wanted to hear, but it was a valid critique, the song in the state it was in was definitely not ready for eurovision.
Seriously. People are stanning this? This is just trash.
I'm not so sure about that. This CANNOT make the final and you know it.
I think perhaps partly its because the hook of a song is not important for my enjoyment at all, there are many songs that have a memorable hook that I really don't care for and many songs without one that I absolutely love and can still play in my head anyway
For me I just prefer the melodies of both Austria and Finland 2024 and the vocal of no rules (not a fan of Emmys voice really)
The other part is the emotion laika party rises in me is not a good one. It makes me absolutely angry that someone thought making a song about a rather extreme case of animal abuse in a bright pretty bubblegum pop kinda way. Laika loves to fly... absolutely not, no one of the worst ideas for song only Moldovan sasha can compete.

This is straight out of the absolute worst Eurodance bandwagon jumping no-hit-wonders that appeared every day in 1994 to never be heard of again. There is NOTHING redeemable about this. The melody is weak, vocals are barely okay, her stage appeareance is stiff and inconfident, the "bom bom bom" part is inane and repeated too many times....
And of course, the silver spacesuits and mentioning "Laika" is a ripoff off the Norwegian entry with same name from 2016, and that was a masterpiece compared to this. This CANNOT make the final and you know it.
Bar a complete dud of a performance it's safe in both SF's. Especially when you consider Ireland have all their allies voting.I think this would easily qualify if in SF1, but I'm looking at the countries in SF2 and I'm not so sure Ireland is safe.
Unless some of the highly anticipated entries in SF2 turn out to be complete duds, i don't think Laika Party is a safe qualifier.

How this is Soviet propaganda? Song is about Laika's tribute, not about Soviet Union's success to send Laika to the space. I don't like this song, but calling it Soviet propaganda is ridiculuosTasteless dated tune and on top of that a Soviet propaganda. 2 points.
WHAT A HIT (jonny emoji)I'm surprised that there are people who can feel such strong negative emotions towards it lol. Or is it the very mention of Laika from Soviet Russia triggering such response from the folk? I like it, there's an air of nostalgia about it in multiple ways and it does the innocent, easy to sing-along girly bop well enough to amuse me. It's like eating a delicate, fruity dessert.
As for the literal nostalgia part ... Laika Party reminds me of this childhood, summer hit. Both songs have that carefree vibe about them and Kanikuły/Kanikuly of Code Red also summons some very nice memories for me when I had little to no worries and a lot of fun.
