I have not posted anything in this thread yet. Anyway, it seems as Ireland does not learn from the past. What kind of songs they are sending, again? All the songs are old-fashioned, not for a contest in 2015. Almost all are acceptable anyway, but none of them for the contest. I'm afraid that Ireland will remain in the semifinals again...
Did you even listen to "Break Me Up"?

I'm team Billy McGuinness on this. He's got a real point. It's not like it's just the songwriter that has been imported. Everything is Swedish about "Break Me Up", isn't it? This is the Irish Eurovision entry. Does Erika live in Ireland? Does she have some kind of connection? It's ridiculous really when you think about it, and an insult to all the Irish singers and songwriters that sent in their songs and have been declined.

I'm sad we're going to miss the Billy and Linda duet though. That would have been the event of the year:(

At the same time you cannot deny someone on the basis of nationality in this case. They did make it an open selection.

Exactly, and he chooses now to complain about it? We've known it's been an open selection since November. I bet he submitted a song and it was rejected, Hes clearly done this now to damage Erika's chances because shes one of the favourites to win.

Well they should deny if she's not living in the country (i'm assuming she's not?). If she was living in Ireland i'd have no problem whatsoever. It just makes no sense and is unfair when countries have these open selections. The importing of songs is getting tiring enough (I can't full out rant on that matter though as it would make me a hypocritexcrazy), but in this case, it's a whole new level. If Erika wins, Ireland become Sweden for the year.

Erika Selin is really nth special if she wins Ireland will be in the middle or quite low on my list, but if Nikki Kavanagh wins, Ireland will be high on my list!

Sadly, Erika hasn't a hope of winning anyway. I'm sure the "Swedish import" angle will be brought up many times on the night to sway people from voting for her song.

See its the opposite for me, I think Erika's song is the only decent song in their national final and the the only one which would get Ireland a respectable place at eurovision.

That will probably be the case and i'm preparing myself for a failure.

I only want Kat. Opinions seem very split with this selection, between the four girls. We are all going to be crying though on Friday when Ireland vote for Alex's "She's So Fine" and ESCGeek will be having his one man partyxballon

I think Erika will sadly be shunned for not being Irish so I think she doesn't stand a chance :( I think with a solid vocal performance Nikki should walk it, but if not then I imagine it will be Molly who goes to Vienna.
