I liked it in Icelandic, the reason they changed it is because Eurovision is at a point where a song not in English is likely to do less well, and even do badly in most cases if not from somewhere with cultural neighbours. I still think it sounds good and is well above the Eurovision average and one of the best songs this year in the contest. We can still enjoy the Icelandic version that we have, though I would have liked to have seen that performed on the big stage as the results I think are of lesser importance than just hearing songs at their best. That's why I hope the Portugese entry doesn't give in and ruin their song because of the detractors demands.

I,m so hoping our friends from Iceland qualifly to final. This songs is AMAZING and Maria is such a gorgeous girl. xlove

Hopefully Norway gives this 12 points in semifinal, but i,m going to be very happy if we give this 10 and Sweden 12 points too.

I,m hope and think this will qualifly because is so many ballad in semi 2 and this is more a pop/ballad.

Typical Icelandic entry. Liked by most ESC fans, but it doesn't do anything for me. I hoped that after the refreshing song they sent last year (which deservedly gave them the best result since 2009), that they would stop sending these middle of the road heard before songs.... So yeah, shoud do well in the OGAY vote, but the song is dull and repetitive. That's all I can say.

Last year's entry was a bit novelty.

As for the 'OGAY vote' as you call it that will go to who they seem to think is a hunk, such as Mans, the Italian boys, maybe the Azerbaijan singer.

It was something out of ESC bubble, which is not something you can say about most song from Iceland. Although, Denmark is even worse when it comes to this.

Iceland will be in their top 10, but yeah you basically proved why that vote is so ridicilous. Mans will win it(and the song doesn't matter)

This "Frozen" song is growing on me. No surprise, it is rare when I don't like an Icelandic entry.

Iceland has a very middle of the road type song. Getting to the finals I don't think will be a problem for this. Getting top ten will be very difficult, but not impossible.

I'm thinking this will do very good actually. It's like an uptempo happy ballad. Easy to enjoy.

If this isn't top 5 I'd be amazed.

It's not that easy for a smaller place that doesn't get much hype/reputation to the jury or have cultural neighbours who are likely to vote for it as well. In Icelandic this should have been a contender as well, though whether people will vote much for things not in English now I really wonder. If it gets exceptional staging and performance its chances will be more towards what it deserves, otherwise it could be unfairly shunted by overhyped songs like the Swedish one.

She really doesn't at this point. She's the only artists where I couldn't find anything for the country Profiles.

She has a Facebooksite:

http://www.facebook.com/mariaolafsottir

And RUV has set up a special Eurovisionsite:

http://www.ruv.is/thaettir/eurovision

But that's all in Icelandic.

If you let Maria know that you are checking on her site, she will probably start sending messages in english too:)

Then Maria turns and puts her hands on her head as if shes just remember that she left the bath running or something.
