This was my second favorite tonight, I'm really glad it qualified. With San Marino out of the final, I'll strongly support this on Saturday, even though I don't think they have a chance at winning. But a top 5 is fully achievable.

Best Greek entry ever! I don't get the hate for this song here and blaming Greek diaspora is just ridiculous. I wish Greece could win, although it's not going to happen probably, but a top 10 finish is very possible! Good luck xcheer

To win? Hell no! This is not gonna happen, due to various reasons, but top-10 is not impossible! :D

Absolute rubbish but always bound to qualify. Greeks have no shame, they just pick up their phone and vote no matter how shocking the song is. EBU needs to do something about this diaspora voting.

How pathetic can you be? Can you point out in which countries that were voting in SF2 Greece has diaspora (except Germany)?

Greece had one of the best performances of the night (if not THE best), how could it stay out? xrofl

Α την άτιμη, μας κοψοχόλιασε, αλλά το είπε! Greece! xrofl

One qualifier remained, and :gr: and :sm: were not in. I was thinking maybe it would be a random qualifier instead of them, but then Greece had the most energetic performance of the night, how could it miss out?

(For a moment, I was thinking "let Greece fail so the Greeks to see how it is to fail in the semi for once" but I said "not this year, when they sent one of their best entries of the past 15 years or so")

Now, I expect a very high place in the final. If it was up to televoting only, you could have chances for victory too, but I don't see the juries massively supporting this. They might place it relatively high but not enough to win. A top 3 is realistic, though. I see all the Balkans voting for it, since none of them qualified. I easily see the ex-YU coutries and Bulgaria giving it very high points (maybe even 12). xcheer

This is a great song and great performance, Greeks do have a lot of friends in ESC but that won't be the sole reason why Greece will get a good finish.

Are you kidding me?

France, Macedonia, Georgia, Albania, Armenia...I could go on.

Greek diaspora - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The only "pathetic" people love, are the Greeks worldwide who run to the phones to vote for their home country no matter how shocking the song is. Talk about inferiority complex. If they are so proud to be Greek then why are they not in Greece?

Not too many Greeks in Spain, I can assure you that. I didn't like this song at all, but my boyfriend loved it, just the other way round as with Israel.

Yes, that is actually true, have edited. I just assumed that one because Spain normally votes for Greece, no matter how bad the song. However, there is no shortage of Greek diaspora, add Bulgaria and Romania to the long list for semi final 2.

They will pick up even more countries in the final.

I guarantee when you look at the breakdown of votes, Greece would have received high points from the countries I have listed and much less from the rest. Averge the non-diaspora Greek countries votes and they wouldn't have got through. I guarantee that.

This might be (just guessing, he!) because of the similarity of the phonology between Spanish languages and Greek: Greeks (except Queen Sofía) can pronounce Spanish perfectly, and I really mean PERFECTLY.

Greek is everywhere in European languages, and it's in Spanish too.

I guess the juries will kill it...

Not when there is no real control over the juries. There is just as much bias in many of the juries. Just examine the Jury vote from the last few years.

Unfortunately, if countries can't be trusted to vote fairly then we will have to look at structuring semi-finals based on advantage. You have to in order to keep countries like San Marino in the competition.

Fairness is everything in this competition. If you don't address it then it will ultimately fail.
