I don't feel hate
I just feel sorry
You feel so very clever whenever you find another way to wear me down
But I don't feel hate
I just feel sorry
So you can wiggle with that middle finger, it'll never wiggle back to you
'Cause I don't feel

Sorry

I really don't care (ah, ah-ah) that you want to bash me (ah-ah, ah-ah)
Do it with flair and I'll let you be (I'll let you be common Eileen)
But don't you dare (don't you dare), mmm, to get angry (to get angry)
When you realize those words just don't hit me
What?

'Cause I don't feel hate
I just feel sorry
You feel so very clever whenever you find anothеr way to wear me down
But I don't feel hate
I just feel sorry
So you can wigglе with that middle finger, it'll never wiggle back to you
'Cause I don't feel hate

Sorry

I really don't mind (ah, ah-ah) to be your rival (ah-ah, ah-ah)
'Cause for your kind it's essential for survival (say what? He did not just say that)
Yes, I did (yes, I did), and I feel sorry (so sorry)
I don't feel hate, that's the whole point of this song (that's the song)
I guess you need patronization as some kind of validation
You won't cope with the frustration that your random me-fixation
Is another affirmation that you're just a hateful person
Who's not really better than me

Tap break, uh

I don't feel hate (don't feel hate)
I just feel sorry (I just feel sorry)
You feel so very clever whenever you find another way to wear me down (wear me down)
Meine Damen und Herren
But I don't feel hate (no, no, no)
Das war's mit "I Don't Feel Hate"
I just feel sorry (just feel sorry)
Ich hoffe, Sie haben noch ein derbe nices Leben, und bis bald
So you can wiggle with that middle finger, it'll never wiggle back to you (wiggle, wiggle, wiggle you)
'Cause I don't feel hate (no, no, no, no)
I just feel sorry (I just feel sorry)
You feel so very clever whenever you find another way to wear me down (don't wear me down)
But I don't feel hate (I don't feel hate)
I just feel sorry (I just feel sorry)
So you can wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle you (wiggle, wiggle, wiggle you)
'Cause I don't feel

If you were to rank your top 5 favourite German entries from 2012-2021 how would you do that?
That's a CHALLENGE.

1. 2020
2. 2013 (only studio version tho)
3. 2012
4. 2015
5. 2018

... I guess? I legit only really like Violent Thing :D

... and how boring the contest would be. Countries like Georgia are such an enrichment.
True... they still could do better though.

yeah of course hahah ;)

Well ... Georgia extremely rarely goes for anything middle-of-the-road or for pop entries (these two things only partially overlap), sometimes I really like them (2007,2020, even 2018), sometimes I can't stand them (2014).

For me
1. 2020 (sigh, for the first time since 2011 I stanned for Germany (Violent Thing was my no 3 based on studio versions after entries from Azerbaijan and Switzerland) and we know well what happened)
2. 2018
3. 2015
4. 2014
5. 2016
2012 was kinda nice, but too forgettable for my liking.
It changes from time to time, but for now:

1. 2018 (very personal for me)
2. 2021 (I listen to ithe song very much and hums it so often)
3. 2020 (but I didn't like his live performance)
4. 2016 (can't believe it was last place, her voice was terrific!)
5. 2012 (still listen a lot to the song)

that being said I did enjoy Tornike's songs and 2016, 2015 were also super good.. all other songs from them are quite tragic though.. I'm not saying all countries should bring a female pop banger, but Cyprus does it amazingly well, no other country can match them.. Georgia however has not impressed me with their entries and not because they are in a different genre, but just because I often find them to be too local and have no mass appeal.

Why should traditional Georgian music have mass appeal? Cyprus is basically Sweden dressed up as Cyprus – Georgia did that 2015, too. Nothing wrong with that, but if we have 40+ countries pulling a Cyprus, we might as well rename the ESC to Swedish Songwriters Contest

Tumblr, mostly.
true but that doesn't mean anything, I'd rather have countries stick with what they do best (Cyprus) than sending diverse but (mostly) shit entries (Georgia for example)
here's a hot take from my relistening round:

EL DIABLO IS BORING.

I should rather say it has no appeal haha, like I love ethnic music such as Kazka, what Jamala served in 2016, Jon Henrik, Manizha... but Georgian songs lack any sort of appeal for me... it's hard to explain..

I was thinking "oh easy to me, my favourite is Roger Cicero" but then I remembered that it was before the 10s. 😂

My favourites are 2021, 2016, 2015, 2011 and 2010.

Btw. those German preselections won by S!sters were really shady indeed. Didn't they add them last minute, kinda out of nowhere? I mean initially there were supposed to be only 6 acts, am I right? And they set them to perform last. How was that not fishy? Also their sucky song has purportedly been rejected by some Swiss singers that they had invited to perform it originally. Very telling.

The lyrics were hilarious in the hindsight 'I'm tired of always losing' & 'Sister' also sounds like Norwegian word for 'last' lol.

Yes, you are right... plus they were the only ones to get a small reprise after their performance

Someone was unspeakably in love with it to pimp slot it or detached enough from reality to think it is definitely the best option for Germany. Or someone influential from S!sters circle really wanted to go for a funny trip, lol. S!sters themselves were too random to have power over their draw etc. and I've always got kind vibes from them anyway.

I do wonder whether there is an internal selection for Germany next year like now (?) or some 'Unser Lied' live contest will take place again.

I don't miss our Krajowe Eliminacje / National Final thing to be frank as I am still salty for ditching Margaret in 2016. Also production value of those 'gigs' used to be very low, they were actually forced to perform cramped in hallways, lmao. I would only want that format back if it was at least at MDGP-level of production with beautiful stage.

Sure her (Margaret's) live performance was not the greatest there (albeit still not as bad as claimed, she was in tune, she was actually screwed by people who were responsible for sound / sound engineering on that day, I mean ... that reverb was unwanted and backing vocalists were louder than her), but her entry had so much potential - maybe even top 3. No wonder why our odds to win the contest dropped so drastically after Szpak won, lol.

They will probably stick to internal selections. Most artists prefer that process so they aren't known for losing the preselection. Thomas Schreiber called it being "burned". And if that gets us bigger names to be involved in the process I'm all for it.

The only way I would want a public preselection is in a cooperation with either RTL or Pro 7 (big networks with a younger target audience than NDR). Otherwise the Schlager crowd dominates the televote again and gives us Sister 2.0

In any case they "casted" for a fan jury again.

Yeah it was a shame. And looking back I don't think she was that bad. The staging was just really lackluster.
But Szpak was not a total failure though, look on the bright side!

I'm very curious how Poland will select their entry going forward. I have polish ancestry so I would love to see them succeed. But Rafal is just... not it.
Maybe the delegation could take some notes from the Czech Republic? Their selection is usually small as well with not that much budget but they really have great songs. The selection 2020 was THE best, loved every song.

What do you mean by the selection last year? The possible line-up as a whole or something related to Czech Republic possible entries on that matter?

I still dislike the song but I think Jendrik & co will make a great visual show in Rotterdam. I am seriously excited with what they'll come up with as everything can be thrown here with this type of entry and Jendrik's personality, lol.

It rather won't be toned down ... more like flamboyant but still cute & with a tidbit of conscious campy content.
