Re: GERMANY 2013
A fun and varied final in Germany. Easily their best final in years.
- Ben Ivory – The righteous ones (A very modern and good song. Normally not my taste but for some reason I like this.)
- Betty Dittrich – Lalala (A really nice and catchy retro song. The song has an easily recognizable melody. Retro is very popular and this could do very well (especially with the jury's).)
- Blitzkids – Heart on the line (Not a bad song that is clearly inspired by Lady Gaga but that is a bit too mainstream.)
- Cascada – Glorious (Great dance song of the popular German group Cascada. I love their music and I’m wondering if they can get the German ticket to Malmö. My only concern is: can Natalie sing live?)
- Finn Martin – Change (A good contemporary song that could’ve been a Danish entry.)
- LaBrassBanda – Nackert (Oh what a messy entry! This is not my style! No, this is definitely not my cup of tea!)
- Mia Diekow – Lieblingslied (Oh no! This was what’s missing: a shameless copycat of "Satellite" by Lena Meyer-Landrut. It’s not original at all! Who is still waiting for this? I certainly don’t! Next please!
- Mobilée – Little sister (A good song but otherwise not so special.)
- Nica & Joe – Elevated (Very good and powerful song. Their voices are beautiful and fit very well together. Without doubt one of the best songs in this selection. Pure class from Germany! The only downside is that I think that the end could have done a little more exciting.)
- Die Priester & Mojca Erdmann - Meerstern, sei gegrüßt (Very beautiful and interesting composition! I really love this kind of music! This even reminds me a bit of the music in The Lord of the Rings movies. I wonder if it can win.)
- Saint Lu – Craving (Good song but I must admit that I don’t like her voice so much.)
- Die Söhne Mannheims – One love (Certainly not a bad song, but not quite my taste. This doesn’t have to win for me.)
I hope that Betty Dittrich, Cascada, The Priest & Mojca Erdmann or Nica & Joe will be the winner. I can live with everyone else as winner, except for LaBrassBanda and Mia Diekow, which I find terrible.
Good luck Germany!
