In 2023 it was Kaarja vs previous winner, Loreen.

So this time, they (possibly even mother Erika herself) decided to jump in early and sent a schlager about saunas into competition, which made Mans cry his whole way home as 2nd best. Mission accomplished!

Now nothing can stop this slutty nun from conquering Switzerland.

I was listening to this year participants. I couldn’t finish this one. Not my cup of tea at all. Then I check the odds and was shocked to see this so high. Me and my friend rewatched it and we kinda get the excitement about this one, but for me it so poor executed and lack the ‘not trying too hard vibe”. Expecting to be top 10 at best.

Finnish people telling the TV channel to withdraw because of Israel? YLE knew Israel were participating. So did all the acts and media persons… this was dealt with months ago… if these people (the same as Iceland last year) want to throw their dummies out of the pram then fine. But Israel is a part of Eurovision much more than Finland so if Finland want to withdraw they won’t be missed… Especially not this monstrous song which clearly states “I’m cumming” but is allowed but Malta cannot serve “Kant”

I dislike Belgium ireland and Azerbaijan but I'm not going to hope for their nq. If you don't like a song just use it as a toilet break .

Aina mun pitää was a great entry! Blackbird belonged to a funeral though. At least i remember both those entries, which cannot be said abt a multitude of songs at esc. And i will remember Ich komme.
I can see it not doing as well as people hope though. But i can also see it doing extremely well, so we wont know until the monent arrives.

That's very in line with a lot of songs in the genre--those kinds of hardcore punk songs often have really short shelf lives/runtimes, owing to their being pretty taxing 1) to perform 2) to engage with in a live setting. Obviously no one's going to mosh at Eurovision but it's very true to life for the music they were performing.

I absolutely love "Ich komme" but I can't stop getting back to "Made Of" by Goldielocks over and over again.
Honestly, I think that "Made Of" could have been my #1 this year (or tied with , at least).
