lol wow !! lol come on now you must be pulling our legs lolol

TBH, there's nothing spectacular about the song except probably for the fact that it's unforgettable and it gets stuck in your head instantly lol.

OH GOD, I'm singing it in my head now xrofl2

xsing I do it for you, for you, for you... yeah, I do it for you, marry me baby xdance xsing.

I hope they manage to do a similar staging with less people on stage. That staging was really nice!

I just hate this Katy Perry wanna be and the pathetic performance. I don't get why Finland chose this having Mikael Saari in the final. Can someone explain it??? 0 points.

Because Finland has tried two years in a row with ballads and the results were absolutely disappointing. This wannabe Katy Perry represent something new for Finns, because Finland is not a bubble dance country. So, why not to try something else? If you see the latest Finland's history in Eurovision
2006 Monster metal
2007 Rock ballad
2008 Heavy metal
2009 techno-rap
2010 folk
2011 ballad
2012 ballad (in swedish)
Mikael was fine and he got lots of votes and support, but Finnish people just wanted to try something else this time. Changes are good. Finland is not those kind of countries which like to send year by year the same kind of music. Let's see how it goes.

Mikael's ballad has nothing to do with Pernilla's and Paradise's. AT ALL.

I also would have loved to see Mikael in the final - but I think this one will be interesting as well, as mentioned, we really havent had this kind of song before.

I know, but It's ballad as well. I also would love to have Mikael Saari for Finland this year, but I just tried to find an explanation for your question.
Anyway, there are some other reasons as well, maybe not so nice to talk about that, but Krista had the support of Universal Records...and they put lots of money, If you compare with the modesty of the others participants.

And maybe the Finn-Swedes voted in block. This is the third year in a row, am I right?

Yes, you are right, It's the third year in a row. But, I think It's just a coincidence, I mean last year Pernilla's song was the best. We could think that the Finn -Swede community helped her to win because of the language, however Krista's song got the support from non Finn-Swedes as well.

Krista received 19,3 % of the televotes, whereas Mikael got 9,2 %. (Source). Roughly 5 % of the population is fenno-swedish, so it's not THE reason she won. The two songs and performances were complete opposites, and although I would agree the losing song was a better song, Marry Me is better suited for the actual competition. Mikael Saari's song was not spectacular, and if you're going to sing a ballad dressed in a beige suit, it would have to be spectacular to stand a chance.

EDIT: The percentages should be 38,6 % and 18,4 %.

Actually Krista got 38,6 % of the televotes. Jury and televoting counted for 50% each, so the two percentages are halved in the results table.

It's a melody that gets stuck in your mead. Do it for you, for you.. :D But generally, it's a pop song that's not from the category of the best ones. 5 points would be enough

Mikael Saari, Mikael Saari, Mikael Saari, Mikael Saari, Mikael Saari. Please don't mention this name again xgaah

So happy because that bland and forgettable ballad didn't win.

"Marry me" is so damn catchy and deserved it xheart

Marry Me makes an EXCELLENT first impression, especially with the staging that they did in UMK. For most ESC viewers, their first impression is also their last impression. It is also one of the easiest to remember songs so far. So, I'm more than sure this will do just fine in the semi and the final :)

Re: FINLAND 2013

Haha! Not that terrible, actually. I like the beat but I don't care for the lyrics. I don't think it'll do so well... 5 points from me.
