Favourite entries from...

So I was looking for my nation's thread the other day and stumbled across this one, and thought it might be nice to bring back and feature a random nation to celebrate every so often (I totally agree with the sentiment now about not wanting to focus on least favourites). I took the list of current and defunct nations from the Wikia and threw them in random.org to get:

Restarting with a nation with one of the richest histories in the contest felt appropriate to me and I guess the list randomizer did too!

Just limiting myself to 5, some of my favourites from Yaponesia include:

Semisonic - Secret Smile (fave overall)
Republica - Ready to Go
Mutato Muzika - Crash Bandicoot: Warped
Capsule - Jumper (fave discovery)
Guster - Doin' It by Myself

So I entered the current nations' list to Random.org, and it found it fitting to give me the nation I debuted along with, so many years ago, who usually sits on the opposite end of NSC music map.

They've changed identity twice, so I'll focus on each separately
Serenate & Clair was into kpop a lot, and it sent one of the best kpop songs ever (kpop was better in 2011, or I'm just old)

I have so much nostalgia attached to all of Yaponesia's older entries, so apologies in advance that this list consists exclusively of ancient songs

1. Noriyuki Makihara - Monkey Magic (I associate this song heavily with the period when @takeru first introduced me to NSC, and as some will know it was my YouTube username until very recently)
2. Do As Infinity - Boukensha Tachi (probably the song I most associate with Yapo)
3. None of the Above - Cardboard City (idk how many people know this, but this was @takeru's dad's band haha)
4. Shonen Knife - Banana Chips (we went to see them live together in Cardiff, good times )
5. Girl Next Door - Infinity (I remember spending a lot of time in the Tokyo arcades together playing rhythm games to this song, way back when we went on a trip to Japan together 10 years ago)

(I'll get to Hypjo later, so many good songs there too!)

I thought the idea was that Yaponesia is the current featured nation and that we're all supposed to submit our favourite Yaponesian entries, but it seems everyone else has interpreted it differently

Anyhow, I promised to do Hypjø, so here are my top 5 Hypjø (& historically associated nations) entries, in order of appearance in the contest:

3. Florrie - Shot You Down (yes, another Florrie song, but they are both INCREDIBLE and for a long time were my most played songs)
