New Zealand's national anthem has to be my absolute favourite.

My favourite national anthem is the russian one. It sounds majestic, full of pride. So impressive.
Also love my home country's anthem. The german one :)
The world cup also made me love the brazilian one  It brought me tears how proudly, loudly, patriotically they sang it.

I like the South African Anthem the most. It shows how they slowly and with many struggles are trying to become one nation.

The Dutch Anthem is the oldest anthem of the world. But the lyrics are sarcastic. It's a troll song about how 'good' the Spanish king is. It was also actually meant to be played quite fast, but anthems nowadays are slow, so it's a slowed down version of it. So actually it means don't take yourself to seriously and have a laugh. I quite like that. (I'm not a historian)

New Zealand (it has made me cry, don't ask) and France, because I hear it everywhere and it doesn't bother me.

My top 5 national anthems, with my favourite versions I've heard:

:us:
1 "Star Spangled Banner" (United States)

:au:
2 "Advance Australia Fair" (Australia)

:uk: :nz:
3 "God Save the King/Queen" (United Kingdom and New Zealand)

:fr:
4 "La Marseillaise" (France)

:de:
5 "Deutschlandlied" (Germany)

My top 5 British anthems:
1 "Flower of Scotland" (Scotland)
2 "Jerusalem" (England)
3 "Londonderry Air" (Northern Ireland)
4 "Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau" (Wales)
5 "Trelawny" (Cornwall)

My favourite patriotic British songs, with my favourite versions:
I Vow To Thee, My Country and Rule, Britannia!

If (UGH!) in 1660 we had gone on the horror story of keeping the Cromwell's and the republic instead of restoring the Monarchy, I would say Rule, Britannia! for the national anthem. I also like "Nimrod", "Zadok the Priest" and "The Sailor's Hornpipe", these have all become patriotic British music, but weren't necessarily composed for that purpose. And I like the American presidential anthem "Hail to the Chief".

I'm not well up on historic anthems, however I do like East Germany and the Soviet Union.

The first that comes to my mind is the South African anthem. No matter which version I listen to, I always find it so beautiful.
