Updated it with 2014:

I made top 10s for 2004-2013 (start of the semi(s), exactly 10 years, haven't heard 2014 properly/a lot, so this is really convenient :D):



So I counted the totals for every country and that translated into the following top:

Out of curiosity, how would you guys determine your favourite alltime country?

Surely you can't compare a top 10 from 1965 to 2014 where there is double the amount of songs?!

I suggest the number of victories/top3/top5/ (that's up to you) divided by the number of times the country has participated :cool:
Or just select 10 countries from your instinct and rank them

I knew Iceland and Spain & Slovenia would be up there, I love most of their entries. Iceland does have quite a lead though! When added up I was shocked at how high Finland and Romania came, or the UK for that matter. :lol:

I think your fave countries are the countries whose entries you really really cannot wait to know.

Historically it seems that it's France but I can't say they are one of the most awaited countries in recent years. Those would be Ukraine and Romania, they hardly disappoint. I'm also always curious to see what Cyprus and Greece have picked. And I can't forget Estonia either (almost always ranking high personally). Russia is a country that has yet to "win for me" but that always leaves me wondering in expectation.

I'm afraid that Sweden has gone downhill recently, as so did neighbors Finland. Israel has kind of always been hit or miss, though mostly miss (those 3 "winning" years aside, they usually don't rank that good in my book).

Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom had their time. Specially the last two, I never have very good hopes for them. Belgium might still surprise a bit on the other hand.

From the one time "winners", Iceland is the one country that I expect the most from. Luxembourg and Yugoslavia belong to the past. Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Switzerland and The Netherlands hardly impress nowadays. Lithuania is a country that if it had a human shape I'd give a good spanking to. When they hit the spot, they hit it really well but when they fail (as they do most often) they do it big time. Moldova are rarely ever truly bad but they disappoint a lot sometimes as well. But yet again, some years they send some incredibly consistent songs.

So if I had to go with a favorite country in ESC right now it'd come down to Romania. With Ukraine trailing behind very closely.

Well if I had to make a top 10 based on a 12,10,8-1 point system each year, then mine would be:

Of course that would be horribly biased towards the "older" countries, and with Luxembourg being away for 20 years, they just miss out. Croatia and Iceland are the recent favourites of mine but end up lower because of that.

I suppose it would be :rs: because I really like all of their entries (And I like both songs from Serbia & Montenegro too)

I also like all of the songs of :md: :al: and :ad: but I wouldn't consider them as my favorite because although I like all their entries, I don't love most of them.

Of the countries that have been around for a long time, my favorite is definitely :fr: Out of the 58 entries they've had, I dislike about 5 or 6 and I don't hate any of them.

Except :sl:, that does not say much since there are too few years taken into account. :nl: are there only because of their two last entries, whereas :al: and :hr: don't appear even though I like more songs from them. I can tell that next year, I'm particularly looking forward to listening to entries of :al::lv::pl::sl: and :se:.
