This thread is for any general Eurovision 2023 discussion not limited to or specifically about any country's national selections or song choices.
I think this year more than ever the past years the winner is totally clear that’s why I‘m not excited at all to be honest. But since the overall quality is rather low I won’t be too disappointed. It would be much worse if I had a huge favourite who I want to win so badly and it had to compete with Loreen so it didn’t stand a chance.
I‘m rooting for some smaller countries to qualify and getting a decent result in the GF and I‘m rooting, finally ! , for my own country which is my favourite song this year, ironically. But since I knew from the start it’s not a contender to win I‘m hoping and rooting for the best possible outcome.
That was a loooooong process. Remember the years when we had only a handful of songs other than in english (some of them rather being „english“).We don't need a language rule, the acts will do it themselves!
You forgotMaybe I just felt it was… but you could be right, in some cases it’s just a few sentences in their own language. Let’s see what we have.
Countries singing completely (or almost) in their own language:
(50:50)
I think that’s a pretty good record so far! Did we ever have that many? And there are even more to come, probably .
Countries with a little part in their own languages:

Last year we had:
Lithuania, Slovenia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Moldova, Iceland, Serbia, France (Breton), Italy which were totally in their national language.
Mixed languages:
Albania (lol, I didn't remember that it's wasn't 100% English), Croatia, Cyprus, Spain.

I think it‘s wise not to answer to that. #languagebattleThey're not singing in Irish tho
2018 had 12 songs that were in their own language. (13 non-english songs, as Estonia sang in Italian).I think that’s a pretty good record so far! Did we ever have that many?
Let's not trigger the Irish on here, they still think their main language is Gaelic when they rely on British TV to provide 80% of their channels
and ?
