In a change from recent years, media representatives will no longer be able to view or access any individual artist rehearsals taking place between Sunday 30 April and Saturday 6 May.

This is to allow all artists to rehearse in private and the production to perfect each performance before it is seen in full when dress rehearsals begin on Monday 8 May. Excerpts from these rehearsals will be shared on the official ESC, and some participating broadcasters’, digital channels.

Media representatives will be able to go inside the arena during the first Dress Rehearsal of each Live Show (on Monday 8, Wednesday 10 and Friday 12 May). These rehearsals will also be viewable in the Media Centre and the Online Media Centre. Other Dress Rehearsals will have an audience and a valid ticket will be required to enter the arena.

A limited number of agency photographers will be able to access the Live Shows (on Tuesday 9, Thursday 11 and Saturday 13 May) inside the arena by request but all other accredited media will need to be in possession of a valid ticket to do so.

There will be opportunities to “meet and greet” and interview some of participating artists at the Euroclub, run by the OGAE fan club, at the Camp and Furnace venue between Wednesday 3 and Friday 5 May.

One of the best stage designs in years! The BBC are really showing everyone how it’s done, I’m pleasantly surprised

How are y'all feeling about the general song quality this year? IMHO it seems like we're heading towards a pretty good year. Personally, i haven't been super thrilled about 2022, this year there are already so many interesting possible entries available! I mean I really hope that the NFs all in all will choose decently but I'm already very optimistic. Maybe we will have another 2011 - many interesting songs and a very open field with no clear frontrunner

Its definately looking like that, I dunno why but I get the feeling that we could have a big five country winning again.

Well hopefully not. Not because they wouldn't deserve with a good song or because I don't expect a good show from them but I would finally like to see an underdog/ smaller country or a country that has never won before winning again - like :cz: :pl: :am: :ge: maybe.

If it has to be a nordic one, then :fi: of course. It also counts as an underdog country somehow though they are becoming more and more a new powerhouse. Please no :se: Loreen victory...

And personally I don't see it happening (but who knows right now). :es: and :de: will probably end between 10th and 20th position. I have the same feeling for :fr:, based on the artist. Without any further information, :it: and :uk: feel like top 10 candidates. But no victory...

I also wouldn't mind :nl: winning again.

Same! This year could become a strong year again! Norways NF was fantastic, Serbias NF sounds pretty good, too. And I can't believe it but my country isn't bad this year. I would also like a smaller country to win. Actually I want Czech Rep. to win and Vesna has the potential. If it's a B5 country I hope it's France!

Personally, I think that the Grand Final of 2022 was absolutely amazing and very competitive.

I can't believe my eyes... fans hoping for anger 2011 songs-wise. That's my least favourite Eurovision since 2002.

When it comes to the "song quality",.I think it's too early to tell. There are some bangers, progressive entries and a few lovely ballads spread across the national finals but if all decide to fully follow the Belgian route, I can totally end up disliking or feeling indifferent to most songs.

Agreed. And I have the feeling that Germany will also pull a "Gustaph"-card in March. And then we even can't complain since we have some great entries.

Generally I hope that a small country will win again. But too less songs are chosen to actually say how this year will be. I am hopeful and at the same time I am not. I am optipessimistic.

I could fully see a 2011 experience coming this year.

We had Aries in Jupiter in the NF season, with all these upbeat and energetic songs being chosen, which were fan favourites. And then by Eurovision week, Jupiter went into the more solemn Taurus sign and stole their thunder, leaving fans unhappy with the outcome.

Same setup this year.

It's time for a small country to win again, a 2017/2018 result please. We need a break from Sweden, Ukraine, Netherlands, Big 5 countries. Czechia is ontop of my list now, if they choose Vesna. It would be such an iconic moment if Czechia lifts the trophy this year. I am happy for Big 5 countries having recovered, but I wouldn't live for a winning streak of theirs.

Uha. Today's schedule:

Slovenia / Joker Out - Song Reveal
Germany / Tiktok-song announcement
Norway / Melodi Grand Prix (Grand Final)
Spain / Benidorm Fest 2023 (Grand Final)
Lithuania / Pabandom iš naujo! (Semi 1)
Sweden / Melodifestivalen (Heat One)
Latvia / Supernova (Semi)

Which shows will you all watch, if at all?

Myself: Germany, Norway and Spain. The rest I will rewatch later!

Oh yes. Don't look at the schedule next Saturday. Heart-attack guaranteed. 😜

I'll probably watch Norway because I'd like to see Alessandra win (I need this to finally add a competitive song in my ranking).
I am low-key excited about Slovenia because I believe it's going to be an uplifting and well-crafted song.

When it comes to Spain, I don't like any song in their final, tbh. There are impressive performances and I low-key enjoyed Karmento but overall, all songs sound like surefire bottom 5 at Eurovision to me (I even have to laugh at people saying that Agoney has potential to finish Top 3 in televoting and I don't think that Blanca will escape the bottom 5 in televoting, either. Her vocals might be impressive and her entry has been accompanied by a visually impressive staging but overall, it's just annoying noise to me). Megara is basically the only entry I wouldn't place last and I doubt that they can still ein tonight.

I don't need to watch Germany's Tik Tok thingy because we all know that Ikke is going to win...

I'm not worried about 2023 but so far but apart from :al: there's no song which I would include in my 300-alltime favourite ESC songs yet.

Do we really know this?
I thought Jone is the big Favourite, since it is the most streamed Song ( https://youtu.be/Y8ddOIoF-aI?t=187) of the whole Season

I think that Ikke´s fanbase is much larger and he even got some exposure (German media, online articles).

Jone´s song was the first one to be released (= more time to gather streams than anyone else) if I´m not mistaken.
As I understood it, there´s one vote per TikTok account whilst people can stream songs several times per day.
It doesn´t mean that Ikke´s fans all have TikTok accounts, though (since it´s more for younger people, anyway) but I really believe that "the most streamed song" doesn´t have any effect on votes on TikTok.

I am actually quite sure FFTS will landslide this. No other acts were that convincing in activating their fanbase, plus they’re the Bubble‘s darlings. Jona, Ikke and Leslie didn’t advertise the Voting THAT much (or at all in Leslie‘s case), not sure about Mitchy & André and Betül because I don’t follow them, but I don’t see them stand a chance against the FFTS support.

Anyway, to get back to the original question. I will try to watch First Norway and then BenFest.
