It's not that bad, certainly not to compare with last year's entry but satisfying, especially considering the weak Estonian NF line-up. I mean we could have ended up with Winnie Puuh....

Thank god we din't xyaaay I liked Grete more than Birgit though xrose

Utterly uninspiring.

Did European broadcasters receive a bribe from Germany in order for Cascada to win? I mean, honestly, this ballad-fest is gonna make "Glorious" sound like it's actually a good song.

Nah, but EBU brought juries back... if you take a look at what they tend to support it's ballads...

Notice one interesting thing that makes Estonia stand out from the rest...

It's the first NF (with mixed languages) where all the English-language entries end up in the bottom behind the native-language ones, and not the other way round.

Way to go Estonia!

Doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the languages though. Hopefully they just preferred the songs that happened to be in Estonian.

To be completely fair, I think there's only going to be six non qualifying spots in Semi one. So Estonia probably will qualify.

I can't imagine it getting anywhere near a Kuula result though. Then again the quality is pretty low across the board this year so it's really hard to say.

True, but still interesting considering the English/Swedish take-over in the other national selections and the obvious English bias.

I think Grete didn't win because juries/people don't want to turn EESTI LAUL TO SVENLAUL.. too bad for them. Grete could be in top 5, winner wont pass to the finale 100%

And I was surprised that Sandra didn't give many points to Grete Paia !

Re: ESTONIA 2013

Well, I hope so!
You don't even have to hope for it, I can guarantee you that it will stay in Estonian. She only has a couple of "original" songs in English, these have been one-off projects. Nobody in Estonia associates her with singing in English. One of the hosts tonight even asked her about the language and she said she prefers to sing in Estonian. That's it.

Only thing we have to hope for is that she doesn't get this stupid "stage is so big, maybe they can't hear me, I better scream" complex during the rehearsals like Ott did last year. Those screaming parts really killed Kuula for me.

I wish Cyprus sent La La Love this year, it would get the best result among the ones selected so far.
Armenia, Hungary and now Estonia... I had hiiigh expectations from all and guess what? All let me down!

But it gave Estonia a 6th spot in the final...

BTW a ballad depends on who is singing it. Birgit has the charisma to sport it ! :)

Ott did that because he wanted to show in Europe his singing skills. He had too much Ego.

I see... but then again there were cases in the past were acts that tend to release material in their native-languages only went to ESC singing in English. So I hope this won't be the case here,,, but I'm hopeful it won't be.

Yeah, he did over-sing Kuula too much :(

The final result in numbers makes me even more unhappy. Only 51% and 49%, like what the hell. If it had been like 60% and 40% I would have been more okey with the result. Then I wouldn't have been so furious :D But I still can't make myself to like this song.
