You were more than welcome Foti - glad that I could lend a hand to you, as I know how much effort trying to handle so many songs must have taken. You did amazing xrunhug

Guess I'll find out how stressful it actually is when Effi 4 comes around... xfaint

Wow what an awesome show! It brought back lots of fun msn memories, thank you Foti for hosting! :D Congratulations Moistantia! I'm glad I managed to hit great scores with some of my picks. Most of the songs I sent were from an old playlist I have, while a couple were just random songs i came across. Thank you for your picks for me, I really liked my top 6 but also all the songs in my top 10 were great! Looking forward for another Effifestivalen :mrgreen:

Okay, I'd like to say something. :mrgreen:
Firstly, congrats Moisantia once again! You're very talented with it. xangel
Secondly, I'm very happy with my 2nd place! Previously I had no idea about my abilities of guessing music tastes, now I know that I can actually guess something right! :oops: Yaay! haha

Obviously, I had several variants for most nations and was choosing between them, for some nations I even replaced my initial choices. But for some it was the only one song from the very beginning: like for Fervorosia and New Bander State. I was quite sure and didn't even consider anything else. Thank you both for the 12 points. ❤

For Cydoni-Gibberia it was a risky pick, most possibly the riskiest one of all my picks, so somehow I was sure that I wouldn't win, when Cygo was announced as the last voter. I had safer variants, but still decided to take a risk. And as we all know, risks don't always pay off. :LOL: Apologies to Sean for that wrong song. Sorry to Yaponesia as well. :unsure:
Now let's talk about some bright moments: getting 8 points from Effiland was a very nice surprise! This is the nation I know the least of all, as we never participated in any contest together (I mean at the same time) and Barish just came back not so long ago. We just got acquainted, and it seems I was lucky to pick a good song still. It's amazing! :mrgreen:
Thanks to my pot 5 mates: Calypso for 8 points, Halito for 6, and Doire for 3! Glad you appreciated my picks for you, even if a little bit. :mrgreen: During the process of picking songs I realized that the most difficult task was to pick songs for people from my own pot, ironically. Maybe because I had more songs in that style and the choice was wider. Also thank you Tanoiro for the 12 points (wooow), Kadis and Tamausia & Deltannor for 10, Arirang and Ujedinjeni Gvozd for 6, Oussou Empire for 5, Rumia for 2, Moisantia and Serenes for 1.

As for the guessing game, I guessed right songs from Arirang, Tamausia & Deltannor :mrgreen:, Rumia, NBS, Tanoiro and Calypso (thank you Renzo for picking the song I eventually loved the most xrunhug). Overall I really enjoyed listening to all the songs for me. Of course, I had my big favorites (I think there were 3 of them (my top-3), also the rest of my top-7 were great), but in most cases those were fairly suitable picks in the right direction. And this is really valuable, because, as I already said, my music taste can be quite complicated to understand. Thanks a lot everyone!

Effifestivalen was such an exciting experience to me! Now I even feel like ESC ended. :ROFLMAO: When I was a very big ESC fan, I always had such a serious post-ESC depression (many of us are familiar with this, I believe). Now I'm feeling the same way about Effifestivalen. lol. Also, probably because I have to wait a year or even more for the next one...:cautious:

Thanks a lot Foti for hosting it, big respect for your great work! :giggle:

PS omg, it was such a long speech, I guess I can't stay laconic in such cases, no matter how I try. :censored::ROFLMAO:

I just had some proper time to see it now. Thanks! 54 points is waaaaaay better than what I imagined.

The ones I guessed right: ::moi ::ser ::cyd ::ous ::hal xheat I almost guessed ::ari right as Rainbow is the most obscure of the kpop groups sent to me so it should be logical that Steffan was behind it. But hey, five is still a lot.

The one that was easiest for me was... guess what? ::moi :lol: moisoiro/tanontia relationship as strong as ever xqueenbitch and no surprise Gary was the one who sent the only eurodance entry to me, since he knows I'm a lover of the genre but I have yet to send it here.

Talking about Moisantia...
There is a potential ::tan entry in ::moi's list

whoever sent it lets be friends!!!!!

Ride on a meteorite is one of my favorite not so famous eurodance songs I LOVE YOUUUUUUUU

The hardests for me were ::ous ::uje and... gasp... ::ari. ::ous simply because YOUR TASTE IS TOO HARD TO PINPOINT FOFO!!!!!!! YOU ARE TOO UNPREDICTABLE. ::uje because there was actually a song that might have been more of kopachka's taste, however it's in my shortlist in one of the contests i take part here on united so i didnt want to use it on effi xangel and ::ari was because i didn't want to send kpop yet i couldnt find anything that could suit steffan's taste properly xcry ended up being my last pick with the most recent dovley song, but oh well i expected the blank. :lol: oh and i switched the entries for ::nbs and ::rah at some point, but ended up being blanked by both GUESS IT WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!! but i also can say that i got a bit of luck since i found ::cal entry just a few days before submission started, otherwise i would have struggled with it too.

Thanks to:

:12: ::moi
:8: ::hal
:7: ::cal ::rum ::kad
:6: ::fer
:3: T&D
:2: ::yap ::ser

And the ones who didn't score it, I hope you liked the songs at least! :D

also i liked all of my picks!!! not surprised most of them are kpop though. never expected ::rah to be the one who sent the eurobeat entry :eek: TASTE. In some of the cases, the nation didn't receive points or didn't receive as much because my favorite song of theirs wasn't sent.

Sunmi, for example (who was my 11th), would have got an easy top 3 with Full Moon instead. Rainbow would have got a bit of higher points with Whoo. Jessi would have got a better position in my ranking (but unlikely to be scored) with Who Dat B. Some of the cases were completely right: Me is easily my favorite CLC song and possibly the only single of theirs I would have scored. One Night In Arabia is one of my favorite Go Go Girls song. If it was with something else, it probably wouldn't have my 12 (well, if it was Cyber Dance or the iconic MY SWEET BANANA you wouldn't have to worry about that).

I knew around half of it (the kpop songs + go go girls + paper + mektoub), but they are all bops and I have half of new discoveries. I added all of them in my playlist.

That was fun, thanks!

"Road Head" was actually nice! Could've given points to it, but unfortunately there weren't enough of them for all the songs which were nice. :( That was a good discovery to me still, haven't heard about Japanese Breakfast before.

Actually all the songs I got (and almost all the artists) were unfamiliar to me before (obviously except for "Natalie Don’t" which I suddenly exchanged with T&D :mrgreen: ), and that was amazing, because I'm such a seeker for new artists and rare songs, I even skip familiar artists most of the time while looking for music (I guess it's clearly seen in my NSC entries, I rarely send well-known/already used artists, only if the song is a true masterpiece, sometimes I just can't resist). :mrgreen:

Fun fact: originally I sent "Natalie Don’t" for Moisantia, but then while looking in the DB I noticed that Raye had taken part in NSC 156 (with a different song) and Moisantia gave 8 points to her in the final. Then I decided to send the song for T&D as it didn't vote in that edition and eventually the song seemed to be more suitable for T&D than for Moisantia.
Yeah, apart from checking the DB, I was going through the scoreboards, if necessary, in order to avoid such "safe" picks. :mrgreen:
Of course, in some cases I just didn't know that a person already knew and loved the song, like it happened with Tanoiro. :ROFLMAO:

Further interesting fact: I actually registered Natalie Don't for Kalos Metropolis!! Obviously they couldn't take part in the end, but it's crazy how much that song seemed to span different nations (potential NSC PQ anyone?? :lol:)

My "most secure" choices were Effiland (weird since they have just returned, but when browsing the database for their entries, "You Had Me" by Joss Stone jumped out and I immediately thought of Beverley Knight for her funk/soul vibes. Glad I picked the right song!) And of course Tanoiro since I had been wanting to suggest this song to Ana for a while, so I'm glad they worked out to be my Top 2. Cydoni-Gibberia came fairly easy to me as well, it's good that Sean has big NFs regularly as you can get a feel for his style fairly easily. The hardest by far for me was Fervorosia as I weirdly always think I know their taste and expect some points from them in NSC only to find they don't point me, so I think I over-thought their entry the most (luckily, a song from my potentials list seemed to fit the bill best, and glad I at least featured in their Top 10!)

How about we try to make Effifestivalen a semi-regular thing? Maybe like every 6 months or something? I feel like everyone has really enjoyed this edition massively, and I'll definitely be up for hosting the next one whenever we have it ;)
