Can I tell you once again (with my awful english! :D) why I love Lenas performance more than other ones?
Of course she isn't the best singer, but she is REAL.

No big shows, no silly dancers or something like this. Just Lena.
Tom Dice goes the same way (just he on the stage) and I really LOVE his performance!
Liked Lena 1000x times better than some of the womans with push-up-bras or hair-extenions ^^ Just show =)

Awrrgh! I can't sleep now!

Haha. Yeah. Which one was the girl where the performance started by zooming out the camera of her boobs? Just cheap.

As I said above it's nice to see somebody winning just by impressing with personality etc. No cheesy outfits, no push-ups, no gay background dancers and all the other early 90ths sh*t.

I think it was the song with the "Apricot stone".
I can remember that my dad went into the room and said: "Whoah. Holy sh*t. I really can see two apricots right now!" xlol

Hey, just having dancers doesn't make a performance silly. It's all about how you use them.

Didn't say that ;)
But sometime it's a little bit too much. Reminds me of some german castingshow ("Deutschland sucht den Superstar"; DSDS) I doesn't like. There's everytime the show on stage in the foreground.
"Yeah, you doesn't look like a star", "Dance like a star! Move your body!", and so on. If you doesn't look like a Shakira or a Ricky Martin you doesn't get a chance to win this show - even if you sang like an angel!

And then came the casting show with Stefan Raab ("Unser Star für Oslo") - and suddenly you see "real" singers. With a personallity and without all of these melodramatic personal problems! You only have to listen to their voice and ... amazing! Lena won this show and Germany was in love with her, because we just have known DSDS with the strange stars.

Because of this fact I like it more if there is a good singer.
He/She doesn't have to look very beautiful or get an unique dance performance/show/whatever. They just should be talented. And Lena got this talent! Yeah, she isn't the best singer, but she got charisma and is so lovely.

Just like I said before: Tom Dice & Lena are my winners this year. 12 points for pure naturalness. ?

One of the best winners ever!

I like simple performance and Lena's simple and normal look. I really appreciate it. Thanks!

Song was great, modern, contemporary song - no fireworks, no expensive campaigns, no aggressive propaganda, no pathetic performance (we had those so much this year) and all this stupid stuff.

Just a good song.

Berlin 2011, looking forward!

For me it isn't one of the best winners ever (Will you really hold it up with the likes of Poupee De Cire Poupee De Son?) but I think the overreactions from some users on here is pretty bad. Its one thing to not like a song, but completely another to criticise her accent. What do we get if we hae a performer that ings and talks in flawless English? Probably a UK flop

I don't see many people attacking Alexander Rybak for his quite prominant accent, or even that of the Belorussian entry....double standards, anyone?

I personally thought last year that Rybak sung badly and had a terrible accent (if you want to hear such opinions, LOL). But I think no one's asking for a perfect pronunciation since like nearly no ESC country has English as their main language.

Exactly. People went for it because they liked the song, liked Lena, and must have to an extent liked her voice. Linguistics did not come into it, and this is why the majority of countries voted for her.

How could somone like Lena win?

After each perfomance has been heard, viewers in all 39 participating countries have the chance to vote for their favourite. This will be supplemented into a 50/50 with expert national juries from each country. These countries will then distibute ten sets of points worth 1 to 12 based on their favourite songs.

Once all countries have announced their votes, counties are assembled into a table format and the country with most points is deemed the winner.

;)
