Václav released his new solo album earlier this month, it's called "Jedinej krok".
You can listen to it on Spotify here https://play.spotify.com/album/5UyOJgkDZf6lCIxA5xBTfK
He also said he wouldn't mind writing another song for ESC. He said that he already has one song ready, so if ČT is interested he would offer it to them (he also said the song is really good, but despite that not good enough for his above mentioned album )

Also, Marta premiered her new song "Love Suicide" on Czechoslovak Idol last week - see her live performance here:

or below (before the TV takes it off Youtube)

I truly like Vaclav's material, if the song he wrote is in line with his last album, that could nice. Ideally, I'd like him to return because he's got a voice as well.

As for Marta's song, unfortunately there is nothing to write home about to me. :( Despite her energy, this sounds rather bland and boring tbh.

In my life, I was pissed only for 3 non-qualifiers - Cyprus 2007, Bulgaria 2011 and this song. I still love that song like in the minute I heard it for the first time.

Marta was recently in web talk-show called 7 pádů (hosted by Honza Dědek, who was member of Czech Eurovision jury, btw) and her humble a capella performance of "Baby Can I Hold You" impressed me more than the aggressive Superstar performance posted above.

and nofuxCZ I might be wrong, but I think that Václav said the reason why the song is not on his album was that it has English lyrics, while the rest of the album is in Czech (with the exception of Hope Never Dies). I don´t think he said "well, it was not good enough for my CD, but it is good enough for Eurovision". :-))

Yes, he said that as well, but the exact quote is:
"Nedostala se na mé cédéčko, protože byla nazpívaná anglicky a nebylo to moc dobré. Odložil jsem ji, ale je dobrá a já jí věřím"
Now looking at it you could interpret it several ways, but to me it implied the song was not good enough for his album, but is good enough for ESC.

Together again, with a slightly different, Swan Lake inspired choreography. :)

How did they not win Eurovision? xcry1 Amazing performance. I wish I understood what they were saying at the beginning!

The sound quality is not great, obviously, so I am not sure about every word, but roughly:

Václav says "Please welcome my great friend and wonderful singer Marta Jandová." (then I didn´t understand about two sentences because of the clapping). Marta jokingly informs the audience that only Václav will sing for them (it was his concert), while she is going to appear just as "one more backing dancer in this show". Then she asks the people why they laughed. "I am a real ballerina, look." She asks the musicians if they can play music from the Swan Lake ballet and shows the swan moves. Václav says it wasn´t bad for a singer, Marta says that she would be probably too well-endowed swan anyway and after Václav´s attempt to repeat the swan moves, he says that it´s not going to work because of his hurting back and then they start to sing.

OMG. Václav shaved his iconic beard for a role in a new musical (co-starring Dasha, who was originally meant to be the performer of our 2016 entry):

Marta Jandová was revealed as one of the contestants of upcoming 2nd season of Czech "Your Face Sounds Familiar" tv show, starting this sunday. xcheer I probably won´t be spamming this thread with all her performances, torturing everyone who ever posted something in there, so if you are interested to see the videos, I will post them in this specialized thread.
