Actually, Im gonna do a 180° here xgiggle, after a few listens this grew on me. Its interesting enough for me to want to go back to listen to it again ( Im trying to understand whats the entity that the song is about? Narcissus? ) and Im happy this is turning out to have replay value for me, coz Im only revisiting only a couple of entries this year so far.
Trinity of Apollo-Dionysus-Hades? I may have spent too long on this... 🤫 Will there be Minotaur Labyrinth on stage for this Icarus to escape?

I can't help feeling that the songwriters had a female singer in mind here. He looks macho in the video, but the song isn't macho. The tempo is high, and there is an obvious Insomnia element in it, but where is the substance? Don't think there is any. I'll give it a few more listens, but for now it's a 4 from me.

The first verse was clearly written for a female performer.

It's just a horrible match, imo. Theo's voice sounds really flat, the lyrics don't fit him and are embarrassing at parts.
I don't know Theo's style but it really feels non-authentic.

There is nothing in the lyrics that suggests it was written for a female singer. Perhaps brushing up on Greek mythology and general analyses skills would make people see that they clearly put some thought into both the lyrics and visuals (musically i am not competent enough to know). The entire song is built up as a riddle. How well did they succeed? That's your decision to make.

I think it's very feminine or at least, a bit flamboyant to sing about being "famous for my beauty" and being so "captivating", etc. The first verse sounds like it's written for a female artist or RuPaul's Drag Race.

Please fill us in which Greek mythology they are referring to.
I couldn't find any other posts online and even though I would argue that I know some of the Greek myths quite well, I fail to get the "story" of the song (I'm not referring to the music video since I haven't really watched it).
I thought of Narcissus when I heard it for the first time but then I got rid off that idea - they could have come up with some more storytelling but maybe I'm just not getting the whole point of the song because I heavily dislike it vocally, musically, lyrically.

I could put smth together with my ideas once i got time, if there is interest? I wouldn't mind i kinda do like the song. I'm probably not completely right, cause I tend to be on the right track and then overdo it and do 180 instead and my Greek mythology is very rusty, the references would be like wikipedia or so, lol.
(Deities tend to be quite androgynous in general, they don't really care that much abt masculine or feminine imo. But those first four lines make me think of Apollo, the god of Sun)

I like this a lot because I can add it to my Cyprus All Stars playlist.

It's somehow twisted that this beautiful twunk is singing a song that I could see a drag queen perform. In a small club in Ayia Napa. Therefore it's very authentic.

It's a confusing song for me with both elements I like and elements I dislike. I

Maybe it's an Asian thing (my heritage) but I don't think it's strange for a man to be famous for his beauty. Regarding Greek myth I remember the story of a man who was in love with his reflection

My first impression wasn't good, but I think it's due to the sound mix, the track beat overpowers the vocals.

I really like the verses and pre-chorus and the overall mystic vibe. He keeps asking me who he is and I wanna find out. I'm thinking Narcissus.
The chorus kinda reminds me of :ge: 2024 and I find myself singing I see it in the air, I see it in the air and it loses me.

This is really growing on me. I was very thrown at first by a few things - the weird lyrics, the amount of spoken word, and his peculiar voice.
BUTTT the instrumental is one of the best this year. It is the exact type of beat where you just need to get completely lost in a smoky rave on a metric ton of ketamine. Truly a certified BANGER.

After a first skeptical listen of the song the day of the release, i now have this on repeat at home. This is not reinventing the wheel and it's not very original as a song but i find it so catchy and addictive. It's a :12: for me. My 2nd place so far over 36 songs. I'll probably vote for this song in the semi-final.

Someone did some real detective work on Reddit, coming to the conclusion that the song is likely about Adonis (funny enough, with Adonks competing for Czechia lol). The post is Here.

It makes the lyrics so. Much. Better. To me.

In short: Adonis was the son of an incestious relationship (duh) and born from a tree ("It makes sense in context"). On Cyprus. Aphrodite found the Baby so beautiful, she brought it to Persephone into the underworld to keep an eye on him. But Adonis grew up so handsome, Persephone and Aphrodite both fell in love with him. Zeus settled the dispute by decreeing Adonis would spend half his time with Persephone, and half of it with Aphrodite.
But Adonis chose Aphrodite.
He was also a hunter, and his death was because of a wild boar. As he bled to death, Aphrodite cried, and later asked Zeus to give him immortality.

Looking at the Lyrics to "Shh":

"Golden locks, captivating, famous for my beauty" = obviously
"I've been told I'm a little over confident and this will be my downfall" = Aphrodite told Adonis to be careful when hunting, not to go after bigger/stronger animals. In one Version of the story Artemis send the boar bcs Adonis had claimed to be the best hunter alive
"Stuck inbetween heaven and hell" = he was loved by Aphrodite and Persephone, one goddess residing in the heavens, one in the underworld
"My love and my desire got me in trouble" = obviously his desire and love for Aphrodite
"I'm decay and I'm Revival" = he died and was revived a god (also, he is associated with the seasons, as each goddess got to be with him in either Winter or summer - fitting this line too)
"Grabbed by jealousy and cheated by my enemy" = would fit the most common Interpretation of his death: Ares was jealous of Adonis because of his relationship to Aphrodite, and send the boar to kill him. This sometimes involves Ares stocking Adonis bloodlust to make him attack the boar against Aphrodites request in the first place, hence cheating him
"From tears to blood to flowers" = when he died, Aphrodite cried, and she dripped his blood over the ground, which made flowers bloom in those places to remember him.

The only thing is, why the whole "don't say my name than"? Because Adonis is spending secret time with Aphrodite and does not want to be recognized? 🤔

This also does not fit the music Video, but that does not need to mean much I think. Still, this really made me like the lyrics!

In the silence...there is one word I hear....

Shhh...

No, no that, but....

MID

Gosh, how could y'all make such a dated song, feels like I opened a hits of the early 2000s can kept in the basement by my mother all these years. Yet without any charm of that period. Sigh.

I never normally rank entries so low because there’s normally a saving grace in there somewhere, but for me this is garbage! We’re not getting a vocal and he’s just talking over a generic dance beat? It also feels very mismatched (the “vocal” to the beat). I too echo the sentiment of others in this thread, this song was definitely constructed with a female vocalist in mind.

Not what I expected - bring back the Eleni/Tamta/Elena supremacy days!

I still don't get the Insomnia references. But I sense a little bit of Darude (and those are the only parts that I like). The falsettos seem a little bit like "I feel alive" by Imri and as for the rest it's just weird.

They really need to have a really good staging, otherwise I can see this flopping really hard. And I really hate those AI generated lyrics. I mean I know that us portuguese people do tend to invest overly on the lyrics and we could sometimes tone it down a little bit but let's not exagerate.

I give it a :4:

Do you really think the lyrics were written by AI?
