it all seems pretty standard stuff to me (with the exception of the initial jury audition). I wish they didn't have a two-song superfinal though. That guarantees the most boring and generic of the two will win.

Wonderful news from cash-strapped Cyprus! A great inspiration to other recession-hit islands with long histories at Eurovision and flags that contain green, white, and orange!
No to the superfinal, unless both are interesting entries... it just doesn't work if there's something daring... remember Germany and Estonia 2014? It just creates too much of an anti-vote unless there's a 3 song superfinal or none at all

A final with two songs? Eeh how long the show will be, 15 minutes? :?
If they want something like MF they should have and an appropriate number for songs to make it. Well not so many semis ofc, but there should be at least 4 songs in the final imo

Apparently they'll have 8 (!) semis - which means 10 songs (8 semi winners + 2 second chance qualifiers) in the final. And in that final there will be a 2nd voting round between the top 2 songs.

Glad to see some more news coming up of national finals, but I'm worried by a couple of things here. The article says that there were less submissions than expected, and Cyprus is a small country to begin with, yet sixty songs are participating in the NF; I get the feeling that we'll have to wade through a fair bit of trash to find the good songs.
On top of that, the selection process seems to be Lithuania levels of convoluted. Sixty songs? Ten weeks? Multiple rounds each week, none of which show the full song? Are the full songs going to be shown at any point, apart from the final six? Not sure of how well thought-out this is.
Regardless, I'm sure there'll be something decent in that pool of songs; I'm looking forward to hearing them!

I looked up Ioanna Protopapa when it was announced that she was in contention a couple months ago. She's not ESC winner material, necessarily, but she's not half bad.
