I don't get all this defeatism from everyone especially the Croat fans. I heard a couple of songs from the same composer and they were IMO much better and much more interesting than Nebo

Ummm...I will try to explain you like this. Nina Badric have had much, much more better songs than Nebo and in the end you saw what we got for esc. She is one of most respectable musican artists, not just in Croatia, but in region. If those mediocre songs are his best before, what we can expect for esc? + author is not even known in Croatia. Even I have never heard for him. He just wrote few songs for some local festivals, not even on country level. So, much reasons for not be optimistic. Last years we are just getting "garbage" even from much, much established authors for esc, so what to expect now?

For the rest of Europe this has nothing to do with the success of a song. Nina Badric is a very good singer and has great songs, but Nebo was for me below average for her standards, especially the performance. I heard a couple of songs that this composer wrote, and I liked them much more than Nebo. The thing is that I don't get why people are so against somebody "unknown" writing the song or performing it. The same was happening here in 2004, everybody was saying that we would come last because we were sending somebody unknown with a "bad song" and we got our best result to date. This didn't happen in 2007 when we sent one of our most respected singers.

Well, imo "Nebo" was one of the few good songs I've heard from Nina Badric, so with your theory then I guess I can expect something better from this klapa composer than what he usually has done

Established or not is irrelevant for the rest of Europe.

imo, because most of the ppl doubt this klapa thing will work in esc

I hope there will come a day when people will judge music, also in ESC, only based on their subjective opinion about the songs and not what they think could work or not work. That sort of calculation is taking away some of the fun in this. I know it's a competition, but it's also more than that.

i know, it's the same in these online contests
and it is true but u must realise that continuous bad results also take the fun in that

Well, I must say I'm not too hopeful for this entry either, not because it's klapa, but the aim seem to be the dull dated klapa :/

However, I didn't look forward to Nina Badric either last year (I don't think her songs are any special) and at first I wasn't convinced by "Nebo" either but it really grew on me to become one of my top. 10 favs last year and it deserved alot better.

Oh, I like your flag-version of the butterfly symbol btw! It actually looks official even, great idea for the producers, you should really put that forward to EBU or SVT!

That song was my number 1 that year, but Franka also could have been a good choice
Some guy from Serbia actually made that one and I fell in love with that picture on the very first sight. Maybe producers already have that in plan.

HRT, the Croatian national broadcaster is planning to announce the names of their 2013 Eurovision representatives next week. The 2013 Croatian Eurovision entry will be revealed during a special press conference scheduled to be held by mid February. The exact date will be disclosed in due course.

At 19:30 CET the Croatian broadcaster is going to announce the klapa ensemble. We'll only get the names though, no song yet
