They are real, because the government promised additional funding after the meeting with the EBU, and there is World Cup this year as well - it is expected BNT to gather some incomes from advertising rights. There are talks with sponsors as well, but it's too early to be said what will be our destiny.

Sofi especially gave one of the most memorable performances. Just her alone, working that big stage and her voice was sensational. So much charisma. No one else would dare to pull off a big dance song without backing. Her voice filled the arena. I'd love to see her back one day.

WHAT????? xshock

BTW I don't have good feelings about Bulgaria, unlike the other Balkan countries.

Don't worry, BNT won't send Azis like never with the current Eurovision team in charge.

Well, if Bulgaria sends a wailing singer trying to copy some dated American Disney ballad, then maybe the juries will show them some love.

If they however return with something which actually represents them in native language, we'll see the jury slaughter again.

Seriously, I hope they won't return. Not because I don't want them in (because I want them!), but because of how mistreated they have been by the Europhobic juries. It's pointless to enter a contest where you are supposed to send something representing your country, but get punished by doing so by biased "experts".

In 2011, they deserved to qualify so bad :(

They deserved qualification 2008, 2011-2013 imho xshrug

And they would have qualified in 2012-2013, if it weren't for the hired Europhobes xshrug

Well, guys, I was being sarcastic when I said they should send Azis

I never wanted and I don't want Bulgaria to send that

Thank God, you were kidding.

Azis would bring gay porn on stage and Putin would immediately nuke us :O

Our HoD shared that text in her facebook:

.... There is something symbolic in the fact that Conchita won at a time when euro-skepticism (or alternatively speaking - national populism) is on the rise, while Russia just like Victor Frankenstein resurrects the anti-western Zombie from the Cold War. I've read a lot hysterical questions around social media "is what you are European values ?". Terrifying is that after years of applying for EU membership, reforms and finally - the actual accession, the Bulgarian mass does not know and does not understand what " European" values are and how someone like Conchita fits them.
No "women with beards" are not themselves European values. Nor transgendered people. Nor being gay . European values are things like the rule of law, respect for rights and freedoms of all citizens (but of quite all not just those we like or those who are like us) and full participation in society for everyone who wants it. Being gay, transgender woman or "a woman with a beard" are consequences of these values. And do not constitute an obligation to anyone else ....

The post is liked also by the Director General of BNT.

Maybe that Conchita win will be another point in favour of the Bulgarian participation when it's time to decide.
