The chorus is strong. If you are talking about a more average song hidden behind production then that would be Denmark.

I wonder if the azeri team understand that the stage show is actually homo-erotic? I highly doubt it was the actual intention with the show, but it truly comes across that way for the viewer

The Finnish girl can desperately gimmicky kiss girls on stage, but this was far more risky than that one...

The song is alright, but I'm still left cold by it...
I was watching with friends, and they said they were really impressed with Azerbaijan for portraying a gay relationship (until the girl came on, then they were confused as to what was happening XD ). I don't really know what the intentions were behind this performance, although I'd say it's a pretty strong entry and deserved to qualify.

Farid really needs to loosen up for the final. He was soooo stiff last night.
Looked like he was petrified!

You could tell them that he is devastated by his new feelings to the boy and his gilf and he doesn't know whom to choose and what to do. To follow the traditional way or listen to his heart
(I need to write scripts:D)

But seriosly. isn't it obvious that that guy is the reflection of his dark side?

As I wrote on the previous page, I highly doubt the intention had any gay motives behind them, but it sure comes across that way

I guess they had SOME intentions, otherwise we wouldn't get so many shirtless photos with him. But I don't believe that their intentions were so deep :D

Well, the shirtless pics perhaps, but the performance? I would be highly surprised if the Azeri broadcaster and delegation were like "Hmm, let's portray the performance of a guy who is split in his bi-sexuality"

Either way I think its good that the performance leave a little space for interpretation. If you look closely, Farid doesn't seem very keen pn interaction w the girl. And of course the man in the box represents his other "I", but it could still be read as this other I wanting something else than a woman at the end.

That would be a shock

The presentation with the man in the box didn't look remotely about being gay, though I suppose some gay people will want to look at it that way.

Standing back to back divided by glass did look completely gay. It looked as if they had been torn apart by love and were pining for each other.

Personally, the only way they could have improved that performance would be to have Farid shirtless. He was smokin'!

During the rehearsals they explained what they meant with the staging. It was some long, difficult story about inner selves and love and whatnot, nothing gay in it. I really didn't give a damn about it, but it does work beautifully and it did convey a poor song a life of its own.
I wonder who has been the clever mind behind it?

The fact that the man in the box was abstracted and couldn't really be seen pretty much suggested that. A normal man wouldn't be stuck in a box obviously.

I thought it was a story of an unfaithful woman who dexeives her fiancé with someone who has taken his place...

Like I said in the other thread - Farid can win this entire thing, and stop Emmelie's expected win if he goes gay, ditches that girl, and kisses the guy in the glass. But what are the odds of that happening?
